RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Behind Couch Storage

Was at Costco yesterday and stumbled on some nice stackable bins that fit perfectly behind the couch in my FWC. They come 8 to a case and were right around $19.00 for a case. Costco item #706674

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help, Cabin Fever, Need to find a Beach without Gale Force Winds!

Around the first of the new year I noticed some cracking of the skin on my old Grandby near the rear door. Knowin this usually means a broken frame weld or two, I dropped the camper off at ATC and asked the guys to pull off the rear and front skins, check for broken welds, repair as necessary...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Introducing Riley

Congrats on the new buddy Craig. Riley looks like he's going to make a great companion. Here's a pic showing you just what you get to look forward to around water. That's Marc's Lab Dylan and my hound Domino. Nothing better than a couple big wet dogs around the campfire :-)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

A guy stuck his head into a barbershop and asked, 'How long before I can get a haircut'? The barber looked around the shop full of customers and said, 'About 2 hours.' The guy left but did not return that day. A few days later, the same guy stuck his head in the door and asked, 'How long...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West lookn at a dodge 2500 sd hemi, manual 4x4

I'll weigh in again about Dodge. I was never a Dodge fan before I bought mine. I had always owned Chevy's and GMC trucks. My last GMC was the most unreliable piece of crap I ever owned, I swore off GM trucks. I never considered a full size Toyota or a Nissan truck as I felt they're just...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West lookn at a dodge 2500 sd hemi, manual 4x4

I drive a Dodge with a Grandby, albeit a diesel, and I've never seen the MPG display on one anywhere close to accurate, gassers included. Do the math and you'll find it's about 3MPG optimistic. Mine consistently says 19 ~20 with the camper on at 62mph (where I like to drive). Doing the math at...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wanted, Older Hawk, Fleet or Grandby.

I'd be careful of that one. He mentions the body seems tweaked which could mean broken welds in the frame. To fix those would mean tearing either the exterior skin or interior walls off. Not a fun project.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

A former Sergeant in the Marine Corps took a new job as a high school teacher. Just before the school year started, he injured his back. He was required to wear a plaster cast around the upper part of his body. Fortunately, the cast fit under his shirt and wasn't noticeable. On the first day of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Marine Corps Vietnam Era Reunion - Where?

Hi Steve, I'm also an old Vietnam vet, but Air Force. I flew with the 56th Air Commando Wing out of NKP. As such, I belong to the Air Commando Association. We have yearly reunions and I've been to a few. It's great to reconnect with guys you haven't seen in 30 ~ 40 years. Isn't there some...

Marc, Take a look at the new Carli ball joints. Guaranteed for life. They're expensive as most gear from Carli, but their stuff rocks. I'll be using them when my joints need replacement (soon). http://www.carlisuspension.com/dodge-ram/ball-joints/index.html See ya in a few days...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fishing Tackle Storage

While not a fly fisherman, I do fish with bait casting rigs. I store the rods in cloth rod holders inside a 4" ABS pipe permanently mounted on the camper roof. Capped at one end and a screw cap on the rear that's lockable. Also in the pipe is my flag pole and flag. I've never had any damage to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water filters

I regularly use the water system in the camper for everything, coffee, cooking, drinking, and even dog water. I picked up a SeaTech water filter at West Marine that goes in line with the fill hose so all water entering the tank is filtered. They're cheap, filter to 10 microns, remove 95% of...
