    Why Four Wheel Camper?

I have to ask though how do you usually deal with your meat and FWC.? I guess I will be giving up the bed of my truck this will be a little bit of a challenge. I bone out the elk in the field and only have the 4 quarters.....2 backstraps....and two filets (plus some assorted neck meat etc.)...

    LED or Fluorescent ?

My wife and I compared the LED and flouresent at the showroom and we preferred the flouresent. I was going to replace my florescent lights with led's until I found out that I did not like the led lighting comparison either. It is hard to get used to the leds after enjoying so much light from...

    Why Four Wheel Camper?

Who knows ... I am headed on a 5 day Elk hunt in the Rockies for 5 days ... during which time I will be sleeping in a tent (Brrrrrr) .... maybe that will add some fuel to the FWC fire! Good luck on your hunt. I bought my FWC Hawk to use on my hunts. Just got back from a 6 week elk hunt in...

    AC mounting question

So I was thinking if I removed my water heater and placed the AC there would there be an issue since there is a vent to the outside already it seems to me the air flow is not to restricted. Just remember that the water heater stores 4 more gallons of water. If you make extended trips...

    FWC rear awning

How is it stored? All the pieces taken off and stored inside? How is the fabric attached at the top? I hope it is fast and easy to deploy. Thanks Stan...you are the MAN! I was at the FWC factory on Monday....it slides into a track....real quick. Rolls up in a small soft case/bag. Stores on...

    Tighten those tie downs

I don't use wing nuts....just regular nuts. My turnbuckles have never come loose since using them. As already noted you need to use a wrench to tighten/loosen them....it's no big deal.

    3 Way vs Compressor Fridge

I just called FWC camper and they're right at the point where they will put the fridge in and they're letting my go with a Waeco CR-1080 instead. Why are you going with such a small fridge? I have a Hawk and was thinking of getting a Waeco CR-1110 model.

    Water tank in your FWC?

My only complaint with our 20 gallon water tank is that it does not hold 25 gallons. X2! Even if I don't plan on needing any hot water I fill the hot water tank too just to get the additional 4 gallons of water in the camper. I do 5-6 week trips and water is always a concern.

    Water tank in your FWC?

At the end of the day I am asking does the capability to store and heat water outweigh the potential for problems with those systems and the loss of storage. (That water tank seems overly large). I can't think of something more essential and universally needed than water on a camping trip...

Installation of Isotherm Cruise 130 Refrigerator

Nice write up MarkBC...thanks. It was my PM requesting more information. Does your door open the oposite of the way the door on your old Norcold opened? Also, you mentioned you removed the side frame due to fitment issues. Was that a simple procedure like unbolting the side frames....or did...

New (to me) Truck ideas and opinions

I have nothing to add except that reading all of this makes me have big truck envy. :( 2004 Nissan Titan with 2011 FWC Hawk. Well when it comes time to replace your truck.....do it with a 3/4 ton or 1 ton of your favorite flavor and you will be a happier camper.

    Steps again

Yeah theres a small bracket that is bolted on permanently and the stairs attach to it with two pins. Where did you get those steps DirtyDog? I was think of something like that...but I'd have to offset them to the right somehow since I generally have my trailer attached while using my FWC.

New (to me) Truck ideas and opinions

I spent years trying to make 1/2 tons work. I now have a 3/4 ton. I've never heard anyone say "I bought way too much truck for this camper". Get the most truck you can afford. As far as gas vs. diesel, that's a tough call. Yes, the gas vs diesel issue is one that you have to make your own...

New (to me) Truck ideas and opinions

Leadslead, I do recall your story. That is one of the main ideas why I've been considering the 3/4T or 1T. I also don't need to worry so much about overloading! I've test driven a few superduty's and They're beasts. I imagine it wouldn't be a good parking lot rig but it won't get used for...

New (to me) Truck ideas and opinions

You will be much happier and safer putting that camper on a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. I recounted a story on WTW about a traffic accident that I was almost involved in right after buying my 3/4 ton truck. I won't bore everyone with the details again. The 3/4 ton truck has much more power and gets...
