Wear & Tear on your FWC?

Use model, camper age, use environment are factors in an evaluation. My camper is 8.5 years old. Kept outside in the wet and cold Northwest. It is always on the truck. Used about 5-8 full weeks out of a year. It was bought as a Eagle shell and I did all of the inside work (cabinets, etc.)...

    Mr heater- burning the ceiling?

I agree with Bill D. I would be very worried about the ceiling being real hot. A heat shield might do the trick; but, I'm surprised that your furnace is not adequate given how small the interior space is in the camper. Is this only for emergency backup?

    Leveling without jacks

80% of the time I can get the truck into acceptable position without aids. But, in other cases I use leggo blocks. I keep them in a special bin I built that is under the truck. Works well and is "light" weight. I agree, reason to have it level is sleeping, and cooking.

satellite radio or powered portable speaker?

Last summer I installed an automotive stereo (radio, CD player, USB input) in a box I built. Speakers built right into the water cabinet. GREAT sound (but not intended for listening outside). I have an antenna. I am currently loading hundreds of songs on a USB stick that I plan to take...

    Improved Control Panel Teaser

I seldom use my inverter because it is very inefficient use of energy. I use it primarily for charging camera and computer batteries. Because I like to watch movies on the computer at night, the PC is the biggest need of charging power. Here's a tip. You can buy 3rd party power adapters for...

Anybody Use These to Load Kayak on FWC

Camper Rich, After you get them installed, please let us know how that Hullavator works out for you. I am interested in the impact on roof weight, lifting roof, height when you are loading the boat onto them and if you are going to need a ladder, etc. Thanks, Chris

No More Thermostats For My Rig

I hope everyone is not thinking that I was suggesting that my approach was "better" than what others do. I was just sharing an experience with no value judgments on other approaches. I don't disagree with anything previous folks have said. In fact, Bill D gave me an idea. I might put the...

    Swap sink and stove locations

Hello Buckland, Totally agree with you! When I built my Eagle shell (I built the cabinets myself) I made it so that stove was on the left. It is not that hard to do. The Wyfe likes to sleep in. I can make coffee and sit under the bed (floor level camp chair) and read in the morning. I have...
