Not sure about all terrain campers

    Z. I live in Ontario ( Can) and drove out to Sacramento 3 yrs ago to have out ATC Ocelot shell installed on our Silverado. Honestly , you can't go wrong with the ATC. Excellent Guys to deal with and as far as I'm concerned the quality is there.

Looking for a true 1/2 ton camper.

I have an ATC Ocelot shell (72"wide) on a Silverado 1/2 ton. Only options I got on it were the furnace and awning so it,s fairly light weight. On the truck I have added E rated tires and Timbrens. I have recently traded trucks and I am going to give the air bags a try on the new truck. Thats if...

    Hey, what's your handle?

Smoke . The " you only have one life to live so you better enjoy it " is so true. I had a cousin that said " your only here once , but if you do it right , once is enough'. He passed away last week after a skiing accident in Alberta. He was only 40 , but he sure enjoyed life. Take care everyone...

    Timbren's on F150

I did exactly the same thing a few years back. Put the severe service ones on my Silverado. The ride was brutal. Called customer service and they had the regular ones at my door the next day. No charge. I now use the regular ones with the 1" "puck" from the severe service ones to level the truck...

New truck - rounded tailgate and camper won't fit

My Chevy "notch" was done to put a 6 1/2 ft camper in a 6 1/2 ft bed. The aluminum rear wall is behind the rounded part of the box.

New truck - rounded tailgate and camper won't fit

My ATC Ocelot was built to accommodate that for my 2017 Silverado. I don't think it would take much to alter the camper.

    2020 Chevy box

I had a look at a new Silverado RST today. The one I looked at was the diesel because it was the only Crew Cab , std box on the lot. Inside the front drivers side of the box there was about a 45 degree angle where one of the eyebolts for mounting the camper would go. Do all the Chevy boxes have...

    Chevy 5.3L vs 6.2L ?

Just got the dealer to send me a pic of the sticker inside the drivers door. "passengers and cargo not to exceed 1500 lbs" . That surprised me. I thought it would have been a few hundred lbs higher. oh well.

    Chevy 5.3L vs 6.2L ?

Lots of time on my hands these days so I have been researching a few new pick-ups. Was pretty well set on the F-150 Crew ,6'6 box and 5L, but I have noticed there are a few Chev Trail Bosses around that are available at a good price. Has anyone here gone from the 5.3 to the 6.2 ?? Just...

    Health scare and trip planning

We had planned on a 6-8 week trip leaving mid July . We are doubting that will even happen . Time will tell but I'm at least hoping for a fall trip somewhere. Stay safe everyone.

    Personal-size Screen House?

I believe the Venture is 9'x 9' and is 63" when folded so I think I can put it in the back seat. The Clam sure has good reviews.

    Personal-size Screen House?

We have been looking into getting a screen house and noticed that Clam now offers the Venture model . Looks like a decent size for what we need. Do you Clam owners have any issues with yours? Do you find that you use your shelters enough to make it worth while? Thanks.

    Fantastic Fan variable speed control

Realize that if I am going to get any use of my fan I will have to quiet it down . Thinking I will order the Drok like Ozy mentioned. Have they been working out for you that have used that one ? Or is there a better - easier option? Thanks.

New Truck for Hawk: F-150 or Tundra?

Don't get me wrong, I really like my Silverado but I need more back seat , mainly to load the Grandkids in. It rides good, good on gas and handles the camper fine with a set of Timbrens. I also think that the new Ford boxes are the same depth as my 2017 Silverado where the new Chev and Toyotas...

New Truck for Hawk: F-150 or Tundra?

Been following this topic closely. Plan on dealing my Chevy double cab after our trip next summer. Want to go to a full crew cab with 6'6 box. Haven't owned a Ford for 30 years but that might have to change.

    Decisions, Decisions

Teledork. We picked up our 72" wide Ocelot in Jan of 2018. Similar to your build but we have no stove and had them add the AT can holder ,110 volt system and awning. Did a very basic interior build and its working out well. Your going to love it and the Guys at ATC are great to work with !!

    Dempster in 2020?

Link. Thanks for the video , looks like a good trip!! We flew into Anchorage a few years back ,rented a truck, and spent 2 weeks traveling around. It was when we returned from that trip that we decided to order our camper. D. Icefields Parkway, never heard of it until now but after checking it...

    Dempster in 2020?

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Leaning towards leaving here mid to late July . Probably drive fairly steady until we get to B.C. then slow it down. Looking at taking I-90 and then cutting up to B.C. and hooking up with the Cassiar. Any suggestions on a border crossing and route to...

    Dempster in 2020?

No real route planned yet. I did "map quest" a tentative route and it will be a good hike. Add in stops in Ft Smith and Edmonton for visits and even 8 wks might be pushing it. If you decide on the East will you do Nfld again?

    Dempster in 2020?

Anyone planning a trip up the Dempster to Tuk in 2020? We will be heading up either mid June OR late July , thinking later because of the bug factor. Figuring on a 6-8 week trip from Ontario. Any suggestions and info would be appreciated. Thanks. Glen.

    tire choices ?

I've got 17,000 KM on the AT3's now . Only thing I don't like about them is that they seem to pick up a lot of gravel. I think more than my KO2's but maybe that's just me. Did notice an awful lot of GY Duratracs on construction and hydro trucks on our drive through Labrador.
