That is a lot of overhang. If I were offroading i wouldn't want that much of the camper un supported. Also you'll have to work out how you will tie it to the bed .

I hate the manual pump because i like having two hands for cleaning (not one pumping water) I added a electric pump and put a valve inline to reduce the waterflow if i need to. Even with the electric pump you can still use the handpump.

Looking good man. You don't have too much work ahead of you. I haven't done it yet but might try one of these anderson connectors out for camper to truck connection. I need to do some more research first. You can get them in any current rating you need.

Have you tried the AC with the top up and some kind of insulation on the sideliner? Thanks, Sam No. I'm happy with the results as I mostly only use it at night to get some sleep. I'm sure some insulation would help as the sides get real hot. Getting the camper under a tarp might be easier...

Update on the a/c project. You will need to fuel a small generator with an external tank if you plan to run the a/c more than 4 hours. Getting up in the middle of the night due to running out of gas isn't fun. Easy and cheap to build an external tank system. Internet search for Honda EU2000i...

yeah, i use my laptop for garmin gps, wireless internet, etc. Mine just sits on the passenger seat and has fallen off a few times:eek: . The store bought brackets are way too much for me buy. I'll probably do something like yours and/or buy the large ram ball mounts and arm.

you got a nice truck there. I had a little truck topper before my 4WC. It sure was a nice improvement to camping in the topper. All your options sound good. I don't know how much money or time you have but you can add stuff later - awning, fantastic fan, etc or just pay up and get everything...

just an update on the a/c... It works great at night or shade. It gets cold enough to cycle on/off. In direct sunlight it's only good for around 10-15 F degrees below ambient and runs continuous. With the top down it's like a meat locker! On a long drive when you just need to get some sleep...
