I'm glad you posted this. I'd sortof removed the FWC from my choices. AC isn't an "option" in the Southeast. ProVan has been mounting ACs on the old Tiger Vans like this for years, I've talked with several of the owners of those older van models and the ACs seem to be pretty solidly mounted.

I had the previous version of this. 1984, 4x4 with the ice maker inside. It was my Dads but I inherited it with 82k miles. I sold it with 427k miles. It's still running around town. The man that bought it uses it to take his grandsons to baseball practice. Maybe the toughest vehicle ever...

The Alaskans are wood too. Every once in a while a 40 year old Alaskan pops up for sale. Good Wood Campers aren't bad. This company though is a fair bit more expensive that the more proven ATC/FWC builds. That is the major downside.
