Thanks for that guys. I'll get all the silicone off around the vent in the spring somehow and use the bruytl stuff and a proper sealant. Gonna call Alaskan and order a whack of o rings so I have spares and put the right ones in. For now it's dry and warm. I have a little space heater in there on...

Found your gallery Rusty. That's a great set up with the stairs and tank. Also found a tip you did for greasing the sliders. A bees wax turpentine mixture. I am going to make up a batch. I think I cleaned most of the grease off of mine. Here's a question you might know the answer to. I raised...

That's what I thought too Rusty. The drips were on the inside edge of the vent. I pulled the bottom section of the vent out, removed some of the screws and staples holding the ceiling to the frame around it and peeked in and poked around. Dry as a bone except the 2x2 frame around the vent. It...

Totally makes me want to go somewhere. I will admit I quite enjoy working on it as well. There is something very cool about having everything you need in the back of your truck. Then tweaking it to just the way you want it. I agree with the silicone under the screws. I am gonna do a bunch of...

Took some pictures today of the inside with the top down. I remember trying to find pictures of that before I bought one. Still quite functional in that position. Table drops down into a good size bed. You can't it up straight at the table. Sink is usable. Just the stove and top bunk not...

Before I wrapped it up I put on a couple oar clips. I slide them up between the camper and box. Clips will keep them from rattling around. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

Mounted my new grey water jug today. Jug was $15 at Canadian tire and made the bracket. I just keep mounting things on the outside to free up space on the inside. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

Here's a little trick I started doing. Take the washers off a roofing screw and use them when screwing into the side of your camper. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

I put the 2x4's on the roof rack for the tarp to rest on. With those and the canoe in the middle it makes a great peak roof that sheds water perfectly. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

I finished installing my 40 watt solar panel today. I mounted it 2 aluminum cross bars between my roof rack. I have plenty of room if I want to add more. I'll try just 1 to start with. Just want it to top up the battery when we are off the grid camping. Only really running a few lights, and...

Hey Steve. Here is the dolly I made. Not a great pic cause I have it stored away. I only brought it in the garage to work on it so won't be doing it this winter. Takes up the whole garage. I was only able to raise it halfway up. Problem I did run into though was you can't lower the camper low...

Hey thanks for all the nice compliments! Just finishing up mounting a solar panel and made a mount for a large grey water can. I will throw those pics up when I'm done. Putting the camper away but still in the back of my mind thinking about the Baja this winter. My wife and boy are flying down...

I think that's about it for now that's worth reporting. I did replace the hydraulic seals. Was successful on 3 but the 4th now leaks. Not a big deal. Just weeps a bit when you raise and lower it. Did some silicone work around the vents. Canoe works very well at diverting water off the roof now...

This was a pain in the butt until I figured out how it worked. I didn't have the pig tail for the camper lights so I removed the cover and hard wired in a new cord. It essentially runs into the camper, then I added another wire (direct to battery) before running it to the back of the truck to...

I had a lot of delaminating going on. I was able to re glue some most of it down but for good measure installed 3/4" aluminum angle over most of the corners. Covers any chips and will prevent it from ever lifting up again. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

Also installed a co alarm as well as a smoke detector. In the same picture you can see I screwed pipe insulation along the wood edge leading into the bunk. It was just bare wood and the boy kept hitting his head on it. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

Installed a digital thermometer in the camper. It reads outside and inside temp. Found a consistent 5' Celsius spread during our trips when we were in the camper. Worth the $20 purchase price. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

The Perrelli webbing (I think that's what it is called) is kind of rough on the outside. I ordered a roll but only replaced the door section. Will get to the rest later. It is expensive stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

They are curtain or shower curtain rods. I used those plumbing clamps to fasten them to the hydraulic rams. Takes about 2-3 minutes to set up but collapse down for storage. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

I installed a 12volt fan under the top cabinet. Tied into the wiring for the light installed under the same cabinet. Replaced the old 12v outside light with a new LED one. It's bright but the light it gives off is not very pleasant. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West
