RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Water pump won't!

Oops, looks like I lied, with the supply side hose disconnected and the pump switched on, there is no suction at all. Appears to be a faulty pump. Is there a repair possible? Perhaps something stuck? Although I did give it a couple of sharp taps with a screwdriver handle, no change! Thanks again!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Water pump won't!

My Sureflo water pump won't move water(4xx9 series in a 2013 Eagle without a water heater). It just buzzes a bit but no water is pumped. The water tank is filled to over flowing. What I've done so far: Let the pump run for 2-3 minutes Checked the screen on the pump - it is clean Unhooked the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Mounting a 4wheel camper in a Nissan Frontier 05-2014

We have a 2010 Frontier with the 73" bed. Ski3pin is correct, the bed is steel and our Eagle is mounted using eye bolts and turn buckles. We are really pleased with the pickup and how it handles the FWC. I have airbags and 10 ply tires as the only non-stock items on the pickup, seems to be all...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New Fleet

Congratulations on your upcoming Fleet purchase! I will echo Steelhead's thoughts re: the inside mirror - I find being able to see through the camper very helpful on the highway. It also lets me see if I remembered to latch the fridge door, not that I've ever forgotten that before!? Also we...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Coat Hooks

"This post and others on this thread are good candidate for Low Cost Mods :)" I agree, there are some clever and nicely simple ideas here, and throughout the entire site for that matter!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Coat Hooks

Another variation on a theme: I just cut a square of velcro, bent a small hook from a piece of coat hanger and stick it to the velcro strip used to hold the thermal pack in place. However my great fear is that I will forget to take it off when closing up the camper! Forgetting is becoming a more...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Favorite Books

I just discovered this forum. Terrific idea and the spread sheet of titles is awesome! Thanks to those who created and maintain that resource. A couple of my favorite travel titles are "Blue Highways" and "River Horse" by William Least Heat Moon. Blue Highways is an introspective road trip...

Your iPad does a lot better job than mine! Here are a couple of poor iPad pics of the capped top and bottom of the lifter.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Is this the crank up jack I need

"A question for anyone that has a cranking roof assist. Did you or FWC put some kind of a receptacle/cup on the lifting board to keep the crank from slipping out? If so, do you have any photos? I am thinking about going down to the hardware store and getting a couple of the scuff...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West LED bulbs vs. Out of the box LED lights

I just installed these and am very pleased, they put out plenty of light for us and we don't mind the nature of the light ( cooler white vs the more warm yellow of the incandescent bulb). I was skeptical of the adhesive on the back but after about 200 miles of washboard and worse roads they are...

Ted & pvstoy, I'm almost hoping for high winds on the next outing to check out your ideas! Thanks for the practical feedback - Regards, "Otis"

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West How much wind?

My only lament in high winds has been the tappity-tap of the latches rattling all night long. Fortunately I'm deaf in one ear so I just turn the hearing ear to the pillow and fall right back to sleep! I think the FWC it pretty durable and solid, I spent a night in 20+ mph sustained winds no...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West FWC Hawk - First Year Impressions

Thanks for sharing your impressions and experiences with your new FWC. We are about halfway through our first year in our Eagle and, like you, are extremely satisfied. Regarding charging the camper battery from the pickup - on a brief trip this past week I left the fridge on DC overnight...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West raising the roof.

+1 on the speaker crank device, I just picked one up from Best Buy ($80) it works great to lift and lower - we have a roof rack and carry a few odds and ends up top, I don't think I'll have to empty the roof basket every time we set up. It does take a couple minutes longer to raise the roof...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Carrying on the Roof questions

I used an old set of "Rail Riders 1" that we had used on the factory rails of a mid-90's Nissan van. They were an easy install and perfect fit, however I don't find the same product on the current Yakima website. FWC might list the towers they use when they install the whole package - Cheers -

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hello - and a quick question

Thanks for the welcome ski3 and dirty dog - Radicalfil, I thought about just using the highest wall step for a hanger, but when I experimented a bit, even at 5'4" I would still need to sit on a stool to get under the nozzle - figuring out a shower hanger will be part of the fun at each new...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hello - and a quick question

A quick hello - We picked up our new Eagle on the 15th of May. Thirty years of tenting and we felt like a bit more comfort was in order. So far only one short solo trip over Memorial weekend. I encountered every version of weather, short of heavy snow, and the camper was warm, dry bliss! The pic...
