RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Vintage Fleet Interior Remodel

Here is the galley cabinet installed. the doors dont fit as flush as I would like (I could never make it as a cabinetmaker, a sixteenth here, a thitysecond there etc and pretty soon you have a crappy fit) but they work and the latches do keep them closed on the road. I am not really happy with...

I thought long and hard before I made any changes to my early 80s era vintage fleet. A shell model, the previous owner had done an excellent job on the mods he did (which was one reason I bought it in the first place) but it was still very basic. he installed pressure water but just to a hose...

My Fleet was a shell model (no stove) so I am starting from scratch. as soon as I figure out how to reduce the file size (I foto/Mac) I will post some snaps on my remodel thread,

I guess I was lucky, I ordered my stovetop and sink before Aery went south, bad news is that the the installation instructions they sent kinda suck! can anyone tell me what I need as far as propane hookups? I am assuming I need a pressure regulator from my (external) tank but what size...

Hey Stan, Will you have any time to do some consulting while you are in San Diego next week? I would love to get your opinion on what repairs and mods I should do. Either way I will try and stop by and meet you in person (we spoke on the phone several times before I bought my Fleet) and look...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Fleet Model on 6" bed tacoma

I have a similar vintage Fleet on my 08 Chev 2500HD (6.5' bed) It hangs out about 7" onto the tailgate. No biggie. Replacing the soft top will prob cost at least a grand (check with Stan at FWC or Ben at ATC) so the mold issue could be a deal breaker for you. Good Luck.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Newby With Vintage Fleet Survives Severe Sandstorm

Aged and thinning? Well, not as much as me and my hair :) Actually the canvas is in good shape (was anyway, until this happened) First thing I did mon was to rinse the entire exterior aggressively. I will follow that up with a major scrubbin. I also removed the truck's engine air...

Superstition Mtn is in BLM land but it is sandwiched between 2 active military ranges. it is much closer to San Diego than Glamis (lots smaller and less crazy, more family friendly, you dont need paddles but there is deep sand if you want that) best way is probably to take Huff Rd off of Evan...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Newby With Vintage Fleet Survives Severe Sandstorm

Hi folks, I have lurked here for a while and asked a q or 2 before and since getting my FWC but this is my first real post. I got my 80s vintage fleet in September so thanksgiving (my favorite holiday, so many more turkeys off the street!) was the first real shakedown (and shake we did!)...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West San Diego Area

I bought this one. It is an early 80s Fleet model. Basically just a shell but the previous owner did install a cold pressure water system (outside only), self contained 12 v electrical with taps to the truck system and a shore power trickle charger. also a small air compressor. Very...
