RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hawk owner needs advice for removal and storage

Hi! I've had my Hawk on the back of my Toyota Tundra since I purchased the camper 4 years ago and have never taken the camper off. I don't have a level place where I can store it at home, so I'm planning on taking it to a RV storage place with level ground or hopefully a cement pad. I guess my...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Northeast or bust?

We’ve waited out the storm and plan to head out tomorrow to the Lassen-Modoc-Warner area in NE California. We may be a bit limited as to where we can (comfortably) go due to snow elevation at roughly 6000’. Does anyone have suggestions for nice primitive dispersed camping spots (around 5000’)...

Consider McGee Canyon (just across from lake Crowley) too. Just went backpacking there and it is supposed to be spectacular for turning aspens. Not as popular as Rock Creek. One quiet FS campground, $20/night.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Spot north of Tahoe/Reno

On our way to the Warners in a couple of weeks. We'll be camping around Mono Lake for night one, after a jump over Tioga Pass. Looking for a night spot north of Tahoe/Reno area. We don't want any long driving days, but I think this might be one to get to a scenic, non-populated, dispersed FS...

Had a couple great camping/hiking trips there about 15 years ago. Large campground with services, secluded tree-covered camps. We went a couple of years ago in February to stop on our way to the coast. Yikes. The nicest parts of the campground were closed and the brush/trees needed...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Rough Terrain in the Sequoia Nat'l Forest: what's the limit for a Four Wheel Camper?

We’d like to plan a trip with our new Hawk to Monache Meadows in the Sequoia National Forest. The jeep track in is reputed as being fairly rough, rated as a “class 3”, whatever that means (I’m not familiar with the difficulty rating system). This person posted this information...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Need outfitting advise for new Hawk

I use this when I can't cook over a fire and am happy with the purchase. You can even use the lid as a wok or a basin for washing up afterward. If you have to feed more than two, it may not be big enough. ttp://www.safarichefgrill.com/ Any probs with packing up a hot grill?

Crookedtail, we have a 2007 hawk and put a memory foam topper on top of the factory mattress, we also keep our flannel sheets and comforter on and it fits fine with the top down, all we do is take the pillows off. Older models cannot do this but newer ones have more clearance. Hi...

so much stuff! I've had a bit of time to compile and digest all this good info and I like the idea of cooking outside when the weather and bugs allow. What have folks had the best luck with in terms of storage and use? - Coleman style propane stove (recommended type?) - small BBQ grill -...
