RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Mods to roll over couch

Would like to get some ideas on any mods to improve the roll over couch. I have heard of folks removing the back rest in order to improve the "view" out the passenger bay window then adding bean bag chairs for back support. Also, heard of folks modifying the seat box and installing a Westy...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Fleet on a tundra

Brent On your Torklift front turnbuckles, how many inches did you cut? Since we both have gen 2 Tundras and 5" platforms thought your mods would be same for me. Thanks again Sent from my iPhone using Wander The Western city of

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What is the Kestrel model?

My 06' Kestrel is 18' side wall size as best fits gen one Tundra. My Truck is a gen two Tundra with 22.2 side rails. Therefore had to fit a 5" platform to raise the camper to 3/4" above cap rails. Door height seems same as std Hawk interior as well. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The Western...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Eagle install - bedliner, rails clearance

I too thought the way around that slippery bed liner was to place a rubber Matt between the bed liner and camper bottom. So I installed a factory Tundra rubber bed Matt over the factory bed liner so I could keep the bed liner. Mounted the camper on the truck with 3/4 " clearance between bed rail...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hawks Side dinette and adult sleeping room

This for Bill Harr Loved your video on You tube on your super hawk build. Wow! I want to convert my 06' Hawk interior from the useless roll over couch to the side dinett. FWC will sell me the parts and label them but will not supply directions on how to fit them as a kit. Go figure. Your skills...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Fleet on a tundra

Thanks, bty I already have installed the standard Torklift turnbuckles but without the cannister springs. Assume the cannister springs are the key? Also, assume your 5" wood platform build design incorporated the lower shelf. Possible you could share the dimensions of your 5" platform including...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Fleet on a tundra

Brentc My rig is a 2006 Kestral/Hawk on an 2008 Tundra EC. The "shim" is 5" to rise the camper from 18.5" to 22.2" Tundra cap rails. Kinda worried that 5" elevation will create excessive play on the turnbuckles from potential hobby horsing off road. What's your take on this? Singlefin Sent...

Seriously considering converting my Hawk from roll over to the side dinette. Did you get the parts from FWC or locally and did you do the conversion or have it professionally done?
