RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West How do you transport, protect, and use your generator?

I'm looking at putting a receive on the front of my truck and just use my cargo carrier that's rated at 600#. I have a Honda 3000 to run my air and microwave. Currently I carry it at the back receiver, but I can't when pulling the waverunners.

No I'm pretty spoiled. I'll be in my Ford truck with my oversized camper ontop. It's comfortable, but it won't get into some of the places I see where you go.

I kick on the Honda 3000 and than turn on my A/C. I know it's roughing it, but some of us still like dry camping with a little too much comfort.

I'm looking for a place to dry camp in Northern California. I'm not too keen on switching to 4X4 mode. Just a secluded area. Any suggestions would be great. I live in Solano County which is between Sacramento and San Francisco.
