RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting a dualsport motorcycle to a Sprinter Van

I have a friend that has a swing away that is about the same weight at the fixed rack you are referring to, about 60 lbs. He carries his XR600, not sure how much it weighs, but it is a large dual sport. I believe that he just talked to his local welder to make it, so, no brand name I can point...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Outside window flap - anyone cut these off?!?!

Well, not really cut them off... When I ordered my ATC Bobcat shell in late 2010, I really, really, disliked the black velcro showing on the side of the soft top material when the flaps were rolled up. So, I asked Marty & Jeff if they could leave off outside rain flaps and the black velcro...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Fleet pop-up inside shower curtain leaks

In my ATC Bobcat shell I made my own inside shower using a Zodi Outdoor Shower Curtain, without the fiberglass poles (ordered as a replacement shower curtain, about $25, I think). I made the Zodi shower curtain to a taper and sewn from the 4 foot top to fit into the cut down utility sink for my...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What are the must have add ones? From ATC or self built. I'm about to order!

For solar I'd prefer to have two wires, positive and negative from the roof, all the way to where you are going to have the solar charge controller placed (close to the battery). I believe that the common thing is of one wire, positive for the solar, and then using the camper frame as the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Carrying a kayak WITHOUT a roof rack.

Yeah, I think I can find the source for them, however, they only sell them in packs of 10. Do you need 10 of them? Or, do you want me to look in my garage to see if I can find the ones I haven't sold to anyone else? My cost was $5 each, and I'll sell them for that + shipping (priority mail...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Carrying a kayak WITHOUT a roof rack.

Yeah, that's a interesting idea. Load the kayak in the down position secure it to the rotatable rack device and then rotate the rack device up on the roof and secure the rack. I'd still want a tie down to the front of the vehicle somewhere. Only downside was when the camper top is UP, then the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Carrying a kayak WITHOUT a roof rack.

Might work, however, I'd say ask FWC about the shear strength of using those mounts. Some FWC guys (only a few, I think have mentioned it on WTW) are seeing tear-outs of the screws in normal use of the gas shocks. Lots of wind pressure on anything mounted to the top and tied down to the camper...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Carrying a kayak WITHOUT a roof rack.

I've used something like that on my old '72 Ford Bronco. Home made and worked well, however, I did tie the kayaks to the front bumper, as well as the gutter tie downs that I made. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For the pop-up truck camper, I use this bracket that I bolted through the "C" channel...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding 120 volt power to Fleet shell

FWC will sell things that they normally put in campers. At least they did a while back. I liked their 12 VDC twin charging sockets, and they sold two of them to me. Just call or send an email with the photo and ask them.

Teach him what is NOT OK to chew by putting a few drops of Tabasco or other nasty sauce on things that he might like to chew. Tabasco washes off and out after the training is done. Some safe and approved by you... chew toys... are also recommended. He just needs something that is his to chew.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fuel Cans

Did you have FWC weld into the back of the camper the extra metal to mount a gas can back there? Like this... on Ski3pins ATC Bobcat build... Without that I don't think many guys would say to mount it to the frame. The regular frame just can't handle the weight and motion. Except that some...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Roof Rack Use, Roof Box, Kayaks

My All Terrain Camper can handle up to four, 36 lb. kayaks on Thule flat bars. Your FWC should be able to do that. I just slide them up from the rear, however, I do have a hitch mounted rear porch behind the truck that makes my footing more stable for loading. For getting up there and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Front View Mirror?

Go to the back of any post office or wait for your mail person to deliver mail to your street, and look over the mirrors on their LLV's (Long Life Vehicle), the delivery van/truck. They have a lot of mirrors all over the vehicle. And, ditto on what the Sage says... do you need it often?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pick up my Ocelot shell next week! Have a couple questions.

Take the ARB awning with you, including the aluminum strip that runs along the top of the camper. Marty will look it over and tell you what he recommends and you might even have ATC install it for you. Should be a quick and simple job for them at the factory. And, you'll know it was done right...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Picking up my Bobcat shell

Congratulations and welcome to the ATC family. Do you have a rubber mat to put on the bottom of the truck bed? I've got this floor runner rubber material from my local hardware store, low cost, not too thick, and a little sticky.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ATC Bobcat Shell - Owner Interior Build

    Thanks for the kind words.
