RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Steps up/down from bed

I definite endorse this ladder...it is a little spendier, but takes the steps right up to the bed level...we have used it now for 3years...2 inserts screw on to the bed frame.. taped a 1" section of foam installation around the mounting hardware at the top to "tighten" the connection with the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Moisture inside- Leak or condensation?

Like others above, we have to towel the moisture after each sleep...particularly where our heads lie (next to front wall)... at night we always leave the passenger side window cracked slightly open and set the fan at 10% ... if raining(the fan will automatically close) we try to crack the upper...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cleaning sink drain pipe?

Wallowa...thanks for the clorox system cleaning approach...my wife was wondering how much to use? 1/2 cup does it... our Fleet water system is very simple--just 20 gal holding tank + circulating pump + cold water faucet use (no hot water, shower, etc.), so to repeat: 1) fill water tank to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cleaning sink drain pipe?

thanks for the feedback...Wallowa, thanks for helping me better understand the pipe durability...again, my ignorance has been "undated"... our baking soda/vinegar + hot water rinse can proceed as needed--probably once a year...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cleaning sink drain pipe?

again, fellow 4Wheelers--will the baking soda/vinegar solution affect the flex pipe used in our Fleet? not sure what kind of pipe 4Wheel uses ... most other articles outside this forum use this method with NO mention of it harming drain pipes in RVs... thanks for any of your feedback...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cleaning sink drain pipe?

Normally at home we use baking soda and vinegar mix setting for 30 seconds and flush with hot water to clean our drains/pipes... in our 2016 Fleet, we have about a 3 foot drain hose from our sink to the outside drain... the pipe looks like flexible rubber piping(?)... not sure if the baking...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Single LiFePo4 Battery or Two LiFePo4 Batteries in Hawk?

Phil...yes, Rando's info helpful as well as yours...will be checking the "Battery Type" setting soon...if the Li setting is there, good to go,..if not, an alternate setting should be ok for the Li battery when we get one... Curious to see if my version is the older or newer ... and guess what...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Single LiFePo4 Battery or Two LiFePo4 Batteries in Hawk?

Phil, thanks for your info...some of it I understand, some of it I don't... still sounds like some "unknowns" about the Zamp controller we got from the factory...no intent now to expand our solar panels beyond the factory installed 160 I believe...guess I need to dive in more to better...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Single LiFePo4 Battery or Two LiFePo4 Batteries in Hawk?

Thanks Paul for the local vendor reference--assume that is Springfield OR...still would like clear confirmation that the Zamp controller will not "do the job" of a Li battery vs. AGM...may have to do some of my own research...but will keep watching what other members offer on this post... Brad...

Phil, bummer--that's what I have in our '16 Fleet--the Zamp ZS30...not comfortable with doing this electrical upgrade myself...but would be willing to pay someone to do the upgrade--maybe the local 4W dealer here in Pdx...what do you estimate the parts cost of a new Controller and other goodies...

ugg,..that the FWC Zamp Controller does not support these new lithium batts?? was that the factory installed unit? ... what does the FWC factory folks say about that...maybe worth a "consult" with them...as many with 2016 units are coming up to battery replacement time...I see us in the near...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof popping problem

Bill, Vic...thanks for your thoughts... have tried adjusting the roof latch tensions--no noticeable difference... Vic, can't say it is our p/u roof but rather the camper...Jay at 4W suggested this solution...saying it would deflect enough air to lessen the pressure on the camper/camper...

Radar, we also sewed exterior no seeum covers for all our screened windows... we purchased the yardage from a Seattle fabric store (ships promptly, inexpensive...not sure of the name, but a search should turn it up easily)...sewed velcro to edges and left the "sticky side" on the screens until...

I know it has been "months" since I talked to Jay about how to eliminate roof popping when driving especially at highway speeds(55 mph +)...Jay had suggested installing a "bug guard" on the front bumper of our 92 Nissan p/u... Since the conversation in February, I purchased and installed the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof popping problem

Just talked to Jay @ 4Wheel...after discussing the issue, he suggested putting a bug guard on the front hood of our 93' Nissan truck...he felt just that small addition might change the aero flow over the truck/camper to eliminate any roof popping due to winds while on the road... Will get that...

Just re-read the "Oil Canning..." post of 2014...the issue addressed there was when campers were parked and in a wind...haven't been in a "windy camping" setting yet to experience... but our problem is while driving into a wind or past an oncoming vehicle's wind wash... these are the conditions...
