RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacement Camper jacks. Mix type?

I am inclined to think TCs don't give a hoot what raises them in the air. :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which awning for a Hallmark Ute XL?

I am sure someone here has put an awning on their Ute. Which one did you use? I would like to avoid Fiamma given the cost and the fact I have had them before and was not impressed.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck platform

Yes, I did use it under my Ute XL (heavier than you will be) and found it compressed very slightly as has been reported by others in other forums, but I do not think you will have any problem.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2003 Hallmark Guanella LX refresh

Hey Thomas, I have been working on our 04 Ute XL all week as I have some corner separation where the tub joins the upper section of the camper. When you raise it on the jacks see if the front corners stay tight. I also just got done putting a bypass on the water heater. I do this stuff for a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Did I Kill my Frig?

I agree, I think it is an easy mistake to make and one I did not realize was possible. On most 3-ways, when you turn on one source, it kills the others. Seems like a system on this one the designer's never used themselves. I am sure you can not be the first one to make this mistake.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Did I Kill my Frig?

You did no damage at all, but if you have a Dometic 3-way, how did you switch it to propane and still have it cooling on DC?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2004 Hallmark Ute XL tub starting to separate from upper section at front corners

Got it done using 1 1/4" angle iron and 1 1/4" x 1/8" strap. Now I have to figure out how to pretty it up. If anyone has the same problem I took a couple of pictures I will be glad to share.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2004 Hallmark Ute XL tub starting to separate from upper section at front corners

No responses so I guess no fast fixes. Looks like a full wall rebuild. I would just get rid of it and get another, but these Hallmarks are crazy expensive and I like the camper.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2004 Hallmark Ute XL tub starting to separate from upper section at front corners

As we have been using our Ute, I have noticed the tub is starting to separate at the front corners when the camper is lifted onto the truck or when it is taken off. This camper has been stored indoors and I am obsessive about not overtightening the turnbuckles. I was wondering if anyone has...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What to use to repair small tear in Hallmark sidewall

There is a multitude of YouTube videos on the subject as you suggest. What is emphasized is matching the repair material to the fabric and I was unsure what Hallmark uses. Thank you for your post.

Thanks, I was wondering about using awning repair tape having had excellent luck with that on RV awnings.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What to use to repair small tear in Hallmark sidewall

The plastic corner on my Hallmark split and had a sharp edge which caught on the vinyl when raising the roof and made a 1/2" long slit. If anyone has made a successful repair on the sidewall, what did you use?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low power flame on one burner?

Burners require very little gas and are fed by a cpomon manifold to the individual values. It is not common, but best guess would be the valve is bad, especially since you have flame, but have lost adjustment. They are replaceable and it is a simple repair. You do have to order the valve based...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New vent: goop?

Used Dicor for years at every dealership I worked at as well in our own service center. Pretty much the industry standard as it goes on easily, puddles and seals readily, and can be removed if necessary without making a mess. No need to smooth it. Just let it flow. It starts to set up almost...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC plumbing maintenance tool

RV systems designed to RVIA standards are certified to 60 psi and are normally tested at much higher pressure than that at the factory. If you want a shut off just used one for hoses from the garden department at Home Depot or Lowes. A number of truck camper manufacturers are not RVIA members...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West is a pop up really worth it?

For me, the depreciation on any RV is way too harsh to ever consider buying new. My wife and I searched constantly on Craigslist using searchtempest for about three months before we found our Hallmark Ute XL and drove almost 800 miles to pick it up, but we saved more than $20,000 over a new one...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West is a pop up really worth it?

Here is what you will find under the FAQ on the Northstar website. I excerpted it from the question as to differences comparing hardside to popup in handling . "with it’s higher center of gravity and more wind resistance, front and sides, will result in a noticeable difference in handling...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Zero electrical power. Something obvious? I hope.

Thanks for posting that. I was about too. Couple other thoughts. By convention white is the 12-volt ground throughout the RV industry. Black is always hot although red is more commonly used. When in doubt check with your meter. If you see a negative sign in the window of the meter, you have the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Do you love your kitchen sink faucet?

There are a couple of manufacturers that make similar models, but I can not find anything with a single lever. The 4" spacing for galley faucets was never popular and was lived.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yes, You Can Overload a Truck

Just to reflect back, this "overload failure" is a sample size of one in a universe where I would be willing to bet the majority of hard side truck campers run weights well beyond what is being cited in this example. I am not sure there are any conclusions as to causality that can be drawn from...
