RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Plugging into AC for Extended Time

As long as you are on the shoreline, your power converter generates more than enough power for the alarms. I think you will discover your power converter will even require a battery to be onboard as long as you are plugged in. When I work on dealer lots, there is very seldom a battery in place...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding an exterior shower to a Outfitter

I don't have an Outfitter, but all water heater installations are done the same way (worked as a certified tech for decades). First off do a lot of planning. On any major mod the planning often takes me longer than the mod itself. The steps are all basic so if you can take a look at how any...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West False Propane Alarm

Most common cause of "false alerts" is a failing detector. If still under warranty you should get a free replacment.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hallmark front window

I don't know the FourWheel lineup, but these folks https://www.all-rite.com/catalog-main/windows.html are who dealers and manufacturers use for replacement requests that are not available through the factory. I used them when we still had a service center. They can make almost anything, do...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FastGuns / Hallmark - how to provide extra camper security?

Not sure this is much of a problem. Stealing travel trailers is common. Stealing other types of RVs seems less so.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hallmark in freezing temps

Hallmark basements are not heated, huge difference.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hallmark in freezing temps

Your fresh water tank is inside so it should be okay as long as you have heat. Your dump tanks are not heated so put RV antifreeze or windshield washer solution in them to keep them from freezing or better still try not to use them. If your dump valves freeze, which is certainly possible it is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to me 2008 Outfitter Caribou

Used four inch. Cleaned the surfaces with Simply Awesome from Dollar Store (I am sure you know not to use anything like paint thinner, etc. on rubber roof). We did not overlap the corners caps. Just cut to them using razor knife at the edge so joint is clean and tight. Used four separate strips...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to me 2008 Outfitter Caribou

I use Happijac on the front and TL on the back for our Hallmark and have had no issues. If you want to have to save some coin, they are easy to find used on Craigslist, Fast Guns as well for the turnbuckles. I regard this as personal choice. I used good old barn paint on the bottom of our...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone had their Hallmark reroofed?

We just got back in tonight. Had to reapply gorilla tape about every 500 miles, but doing that everything stayed dry. I doubt we will have Hallmark do a reroof as I don't see any way to get the money back out of it and I think Eternabond will do a perfectly fine job once in place and will be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone had their Hallmark reroofed?

Have been out West without cell for a few weeks so haven't been able to respond. Although my caulking on the leading edge for the roof looked good and has been maintained, my guess is water had seeped in and weakened the seal where the rubber roof joins the metal perimeter of the roof. From...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone had their Hallmark reroofed?

I have worked in the RV industry for nearly three decades and until I owned this camper I did not think a roof existed I could not caulk or rid of leaks, but this one has exhausted my wife and I and it is either a new roof or dump the camper. We have sealed the stitching on the windows both...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone had their Hallmark reroofed?

Just the smoothest slickest tightest rubber roof I have ever seen. Looks like fiberglass for sure. However, regardless of what I have or don't have, it leaks where the vinyl joins the edge of the roof at the trim bar and I have discussed with Hallmark having it reroofed and am curious if...

No, I have the one piece fiberglass roof.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone had their Hallmark reroofed?

I called the Hallmark factory today to discuss having our 04 Ute reroofed as I am tired of chasing leaks. Am curious if anyone else has had it done at the factory and how the make-over turned out. :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Multimeter?

I have used nothing but Fluke meters professionally. A clamp meter that will read DC amperage save so much time, I doubt anyone who ever had one would use anything else. Pricey yes, but they last a lifetime. And as a side note, I found the less expensive clamp meters can be off a great deal when...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hallmark

Not a lot of responses to this. I am not one to spend a lot of time thinking about batteries. I went to Sam's Club and got their AGM deep cycles a couple of years ago and they seem to be doing fine. I don't like to mess with flooded cells so they don't come onto my radar screen.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone ever had a T100?

Hardly the case I was expecting point and distributor. I was reflecting on what I regarded as torque characteristics best found in farm tractors, probably fine off-road but something I found irritating as a daily driver sometimes hauler. As I often say, "different strokes for different folks". :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2007 Hallmark Cuchara xl (awning)

Don't know whether you have Carefree or Fiamma, but they are manual and the crank from either one should work and it is not even very hard to rig one up yourself. Here's a link to someone selling Fiamma, but there are lots of suppliers...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West converter fan running

As an added note, if this represents a change from past performance, check you batteries to be sure they are not in need of water if you have flooded cells or if old, that you do not have a battery that is failing to take a charge. In cases like those the converter may be working overtime in an...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone ever had a T100?

A Tundra is a long ways from a T100 in my opinion. Way more advanced. T100 made all it torque down low so no need to rev it. It wouldn't go any faster, at least mine sure wouldn't. Mine was basically bulletproof, with its manual transmission, but hardly a speedster. After that I owned Chevy...
