Start by cleaning the sail switch. It builds up with lint. I would almost guarantee that's your issue. I also have a 2017 and it did the same thing.

If your handy with a torch/grinder start by fabing up larger backing plates first. In my opinion the ones from the factory are too small and do not distribute the load over a large enough area of the bed and will start pulling through the metal. I have the other post with this same issue and...

Thought I would follow up on this thread. Since installing the backing plates I fabricated I have had no issues. Had a long week in Moab where I ran Hell's Revenge.... yes with the camper on the back... along with numerous other trails. And have spent about every weekend since in the Nevada...

My option right now was to build larger backing plates to distribute the load over a larger surface area. Hopefully that works and I will keep the group updated.

Factory installed turnbuckles...all this was installed at the factory. Am I using this thing too hard? The rest of the truck has held up great!? Unfortunately I'm not anywhere near the factory....in Vegas.

As you can see the bed has broke free from the crossmember...lifted up about 1/2 inch.

The only question or concerns I have bolting through the frame rail is frames twist. The camper would not be insolated from that. Whereas the truck box is mounted via bushings and has minor twisting motion. Wouldn't the extra twist of the frame cause issues with the camper? I will get photos...

I have the newer style backing plates. No other factors at play, Second time lifting the camper off.

Have been doing it just like this.

It's happening at all four corners.
