RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Consensus on truck caps?

Who makes the best, most durable high roof truck cap these days? Thinking about one for when I have the camper off after this year long trip. I've mainly looked at ARE, Leer and Snugtop. www.mulehawk.com

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Louvre window keeps working itself open

Our side louvre window keeps opening on its own and tightening it with the knob only works temporarily, anyone know of a way to keep it from opening in its own? I can't see a way to tighten it more. I only notice it is open when driving because I can see it flapping in the wind in the side...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet Flatbed: Thoughts after 3 months on the road

My shower fittings also leak at times in the cupboard, I've attributed it to elevation changes since it has only done so after drives up or down mountains. I just check the band to make sure it is tight every couple days and haven't had it since. Our dometic fridge is a giant pile of excessive...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pros and Cons of Work Trucks?

Lots of work trucks still have manual windows and locks. That's one upgrade I'd want, along with cruise control and power mirrors if you're solo. I guess I'd swap out the headunit for one with Bluetooth etc too www.mulehawk.com

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West King size bed Hawk and a Sailboat

I just added a new section of plywood that I attached to the old tray. It braces the old tray when pulled out past the stop, someday I will redo the whole tray but while on the road this was the best I could do in a pinch. We get in and out by putting a foot on the rear seat of our side dinette...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Isotherm Refrigerator in New FWC

I have the dometic 80 and it uses a ton of juice. Can be loud at night when it kicks on. I'm not too pleased with it as far as power consumption but it works well. The door sometimes sticks closed because of the latch not functioning properly, frees up eventually but it's a poor design. I've...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What is it for?

I was wondering why I had a strap floating around the camper. I'm pretty sure the previous owner removed it or it broke on him. Haven't had any problems with the panel yet though. www.mulehawk.com

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What kind of sealant is needed for the roof?

Looking over the camper I noticed I have some sealant separating at the roof line. Would dicor work or is there a special other kind I should apply? Looks like the previous owner did some work there too from the discoloration. I haven't had any leaks but obviously don't want to get to that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Toyota Tacoma or Tundra for Smaller FWC?

I have a '13 Tundra double cab with a '14 Hawk. We are on month 3 and 8,000+ miles of living in it full time while traveling and the truck has been amazing. I bought it used with 38k a year ago and just rolled over 50k the other day. Really happy with the truck both with camper on and off...
