RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Determing existing solar cable size

I am replacing my solar panel and upgrading my electrical system. My Eagle is a 2000 and did not come pre-wired for solar. One of the previous owners added a small solar system with an 80 watt panel, a real basic charge controller and a 55ah AGM battery. I have a new 160 watt panel, Victron...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Stain color

I have a 2001 Eagle. I have done and I'm doing various remodeling projects that involve the interior woodwork. For the life of me I cannot find a stain that matches the existing stain. Does anyone who has a camper built in the same era know what stain to use. The wood is oak plywood and the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Installing Rhino roof rack rails

I bought some Rhino roof rack rails to install on my 2001 Eagle. They come with gaskets and rivets to use for installation. The racks have pre-drilled holes that do not line up with the screws on the camper roof. I'm thinking the best method might be to remove all the screws on the camper in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Converter

Stan. Where would the converter be located? My camper has a shore plug connection but it appears to go directly to a recepticle by way of an electrical panel with two breakers. As far as I can tell my camper was set up to run off the vehicle battery.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Vinyl repair

The vinyl canvas for the popup part of my camper has been damaged by loose lift panel rivets. Has anyone tried replacing the vinyl for just the front section only? Are there vinyl repair tapes to recommend to do temporary patches. I bought some tenacious tape but its too dark in color. Todd...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar power system.

I have another question. I have a 160 watt solar panel. The calculation for sizing a charge controller for that size panel is 13.33 amps so I would get a 20 amp controller. In the future I may want to add a 100 watt solar suitcase. The two combined calculate out to 21.66 amps. Do I need to...

I’m wondering why I would want to spend $400.00 on a Victron charge controller and a Timetric battery monitor when I can get a Renogy 30 amp charge controller with the Bluetooth module for half the price

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I have a screw loose.

I have a 2004 Eagle. There are a number of places where screws are stripped out and held in with chewing gum. How does one go about filling these holes and re-inserting the screws so they are tight once again. For example I have solar panel on top. The mounting screws are loose. I can lift...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Painting Camper

The owner before me repainted my camper. Looks great but they did not add back the strips. They said they could not get a straight line because of the sidings texture. Anybody have any ideas on how to paint a straight line?

I will eventually have more solar panels and two batteries in the camper. I would also like to be able to charge my house batteries with shore power. This winter I will take the ice box out and install a refrigerator. I would also like to cool down the refrigerator before trips by using 110...

I had a long talk with Aaron at FWC. He is really a great guy who spends time with you. My truck does not have a converter. It’s as I’ve described. 2 separate systems. One 110 and another for 12 volt. The 110 is energised by the shore power connection and powers one 110 receptacle. The 12 volt...
