RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Phoenix vs FWC

Anyone have any knowledge of Phoenix campers as compared to FWC? Value, performance, quality, etc. With their October special the Phoenix is quite a bit less expensive than a similiarly equipped FWC, and the construction sounds to be the same. For larger sizes the savings are even more. When...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Engel Two Zone

Although the Engel is more expensive than the ARB, the option to add the two zone, may be worth it. I've read you can run the lower part on freezer and the two zone as a cooler. Regardless, the option of keeping your groceries on the bottom and beverages on top sounds pretty good. Also if you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC and ATC Comparison (what are the differences ?)

I'm a bit confused on the slide out for the Eagle, Finch. I assume that it comes standard? What are the dimensions of the beds with and without the slideout in use. I'm thinking something like 75" by 67" (Eagle) and 75" by 73" (Finch). This would make the slideout 37" long and the extended bed...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC/ATC/ Fiamma Awning, Which One?

Then again just saw this on the Fiamma website. Maybe they are just covering their butt and maybe this is the case with all awnings. Q - Can I use my awning to protect me from the rain? A - Our awnings are designed to shelter you from the sun and not the rain. Therefore we highly recommend...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC/ATC/ Fiamma Awning, Which One?

Any recommendations for which one to go with? They all seem to be the same size. Can't find which brand FWC and ATC use, anyone know? FWC price is $695 installed, ATC is $550 installed, the Fiamma F45 is $712, not shipped or installed. Seeing the Fiamma video it looks pretty nice, but not...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Coleman stirling powered cooler

Everything sounds great except the size. It says 36 cans, or 3 12 packs, while the dimensions are 13 X 13 X 8, that seems quite small, not 3 12 packs. In my mind that seems more like 1 12 pack. Again, it's 1/2 the price of the Engel.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The Master Plan

Why not get a trailer? Probably cheaper, and would work for Home Depot, dump, etc. I've seen them at Lowes for $500 that would probably work fine for around town.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Two Roof Vents?

I am planning on getting a shell with a large window on the drivers side. Would there be a need for an additional roof vent or with the two windows would this be overkill? Rather than having a fantastic fan installed at the factory, it seems a better value to install an upgraded fan (6600r)...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Porch Light

Thanks, I was going to ask about the awning light, looks similiar to the porch light, do you feel it is useful? It's yellow? I thought it was the same as the floods. How about the rear steps, do you use them much? I really can't think what I would use them for. Or do they allow you access to a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eagle dinnete

Hi, I have an Eagle shell which I bought new and we thought hard about the table situation. The table can take up a lot of room. Also, when the weather is really good, we might want to sit outside. So, we went with a portable solution. We bought a really nice aluminum TV like table that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing Camper

I use my truck quite a bit around the property, going to the dump, hauling wood (40 a of beetle kill), etc. Is it a major effort to remove the camper, or do most of you leave the camper on full time? Or maybe leave it off, and only load when needed? I suppose I could keep my old truck as a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ski Bumin

Also, Jackson starts to get baked from the sun in February, so don't forget Targhee. I think you can camp in their lot. If you have a beacon Bridger is worth the trip, although it gets hammered by the hounds pretty fast nowadays. They got two feet yesterday.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ski Bumin

There are several smaller ski areas in MT that open midweek that have potential for fresh snow (maybe not this year) and no crowds. Being small doesn't imply limited terrain by any means. I would imagine they allow camping in the parking lots, if not they are all in National Forests. Lost Trail...

A built in heater, or maybe a portable? Why use the space for something that will not be used all the time. Also no need for such a large propane tank (if you had a AC/DC refrigerator).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Beating Myself Senseless With This Project....

You mention the 1 lb propane can outside, does it need to be outside? I've read here that a regular coleman propane stove cannot be used inside the camper, why is that? Also a question on the fridge. I've seen on this forum discussions on heavy duty well insulated ice coolers. Do you think...
