RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing AC Unit?

I had to replace my Factory AC unit. Not real tough but the M1 sealant is some good stuff. The inside is mainly just flat aluminum for support of screws that keep from sliding out and looking good. Remove screws and gently remove the aluminum. Mine were stuck a little from the sealant. On the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camp shovel suggestions

OK those of you that carry full sized and not just a military type "E" tool what have you actually used and needed full size for? I love that my E tool is small and light. Loan it all the time for cat holes and fire tending. I have really NEVER desire a full size shovel. I guess they are used...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone in the Fort Worth Texas area.

I have a 2015 Hawk side dinette with all options. I'm in Eddy just south of Waco. There are a few of us that get together and have FWC's but with the Holidays coming we are getting together in Caprock and Teralingua areas. I'm retired so home when not actually traveling.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Suspension Airbags

I have Firestone bags with Daystars on my 09 F250 with my Hawk. As mentioned plumed separate. However I added the onboard air with remote controller. I am in areas where I need to let air out for tougher roads and to let suspension freedom then later in day air back up for paved roads and higher...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Silver Touchup

Following... my 2015 Hawk Silverspur has done the same. Really sucks having this imperfection on an otherwise great setup. I know it has been posted the "company" says sand and paint but no idea what paint. Heck even if my 2015 was still under warranty dealers are states away :(

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTB 4 corner camper jacks

Just an FYI... I only use my jacks when I need to remove my camper for work which is not very often. So they sit in my shop taking up space. I have and continue to loan my jacks if a traveling soul needs help or even when nearby person needs to use. Maybe just ask in your location and somebody...

Porkface... sorry I meant 4 weeks in Alaska. We are taking a month or close just to get to Alaska and the drive home will take as long as it takes. I assume if there is a few of us that we will split up as time allows for each of us. I am really hoping we can utilize the Ferry system but will...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Porta Potti deodorizer recommendations

I carry a bottle of Spray Lysol and hit potty area after each use... just a spritz. In the Black Tank I just use the biodegradable dropins we buy at Wally World. Don't seem to ever have an issue with smell. Same here good for 3-4 days usually. Note I currently use a CampCo Potty but will be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Toilet System for Shell

I absolutely agree with Dessmo, I have been out and about a bit with my wife and our FWC. The porta potty is a necessary option for my wife. We have tried most all of the "solutions" and this just works! We are also discovering that great spots like HipCamp require self contained.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What length RV power extension to reach the 4 Wheel at most RV sites?

As mentioned 25ft is fine. I would recommend a polarity tester too. If you use remote or seldom used spots it's safe to test but also lets you know if there is actual power at outlet and if polarity correct...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaska 2021

We are planning a trip to be in Alaska in August of 2021 probably for most of the month. Currently 3 couples in 3 vehicles. Reasonably experienced travelers but none of us has driven to AK. Myself and my wife were there last year for 2 weeks so have an idea what we want to see and where to go...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West F350 where do I jack from? / would this plan work?

I would look up Safe Jack for extensions and footprint on bottle jacks. I use for my F250 and it not only works but gives me a warm fuzzy felling as being safer ;)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Spot X

I recently moved up to the SPOT X too. Been on 3 long trips since then. So far messaging and canned messages are working as designed. The check in process is easier too. I also must have fat fingers ;0 so I use a blunt key to use the functions. I really like the low battery warning and USB charging.

Love my Fiama on my Hawk. I've had many different awnings over the years for different applications and this is my favorite. I have a 23Zero awning on my Tacoma... I like it too but wish I had a Fiama even for my tent camping :) I accidentally broke my hand crank for my Fiama so if you find a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sourcing suggestions for bear spray

As I have posted on a local FB group. Those of us that travel into Bear Country only on occasion... we should loan out and let others borrow our spray that we have purchased.
