RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper dolly height.

Sag definitely can occur especially if your camper is older and run down (see my thread for the shape the camper was in when I started) I’d just make it the size of the bottom of the floor, tipped up on its side and strapped to a wall for storage it doesn’t take up any more space

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper dolly height.

i built my dolly using 6" casters, a 2x4 frame, sheeted with 5/8" ply and a 2x6 with the casters mounted to it, id estimate it to be about 14" off the ground. i can't pop the camper up in my garage as i have a big beam running down the middle of it. i could pop the camper if i rotated the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cabover camper on utility / flatbed trailer?

i hauled my Grandby up to ATC for some work on a utility trailer. this particular grandby below (the used one the day i bought it) had spent most its life on a trailer, i know the original owners and it had been this way since about 1999. they liked it on the trailer for the flexibility as...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yolo County shelter in place (where FWC is)

Where I’m at in so cal, we don’t have a shelter in place order yet, rather a suggestion that if you’re not essential, please stay home. Apparently automotive repair is essential. Which I can buy, but we do vintage mercedes only and none of them are daily drivers. I’m sure we’ll get thru it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West F-150 Regular Cab 6.5' box - Suspension Upgrades

They do put the 3.5EB in the regular cab but ya gotta get a long bed. I’m in the same boat. My current colorado is going away soon. I’m looking at full size trucks to haul my FWC (grandby being modded to hawk) and it’s down to basically a F-150 but the jury is out on the rest of it. I can have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Door jam replacement

Those should be four pieces welded together, not 4 individual sections. At least that’s how my 1999 grandby is/was (it’s being turned into a hawk at ATC) New door possibly, maybe ATC has some older door parts there. If they haven’t scrapped my rear door yet, they definitely do.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Other camper/cap mfg?

you could take one of these caps, add rigid insulation very easily and panel the inside (thats all thats in a FWC) a propex furnace would be a relatively simple install, or one of the diesel heater options, if wanting to use an atwood/dometic you would have to make sure they frame an opening in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Other camper/cap mfg?

The bottom 3 are the same camper. The first one is a different camper. There’s some good threads on tacoma world if you search “aluminum truck camper” and “commercial truck camper” on there. ARE is much cheaper than tradesman, they kinda start around $2400 and go up from there, optioned like...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Other camper/cap mfg?

Looking at the first pic it looks like a custom commercial shell. Something along the lines of an ARE DCU I don’t have em on this phone but I’ll add some pictures when I get home. I almost bought one like that for my colorado. ARE, workmate, and tradesman will make a topper like that for your...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Four Wheel Camper Transport

That works too, but by the time I left my sisters place in Oklahoma, I’d been on the road/gone 11 days and I just wanted to get home to my own shower, bed, wife, dog, cat in no particular order. I figured I’d drive til I got tired. Well, I left 7am, and I wasn’t getting tired til after kingman...
