Hello there.

I received a prompt reply after posting this one. "We are not too sure who is the manufacture for that. This is a photo for just marketing."

I'll assume it's not a popular model if it doesn't get identified at this site.

This looks to be an advertisement for "Renogy" solar company.
A very good solar company to deal with.

This could be a home made camper.
FWC makes a new model Project "M"
Also Palomino makes a different model
the Rogue EB1 EB2 they look like the Romain Chariot camper.
Check them out if you want something different. Although the FWC Project
is a very light camper it IMO is a bit hefty in price.
But it's made well and is very light weight.

I have the M on my radar. I have to wonder if it would be suitable for a furnace system, its the one option I would really appreciate the most?

Why you don't look at the ATC campers.I have a Bobcat.
Very well constructed and a few 1000$ less then the FWC Fleet.
Give Marty a call. They are great to work with and will do some custom work.

When I saw the padlock on the door in that picture, "Home Built Camper" was the first thought to pop into my mind.

I like the cargo box on the roof of the cab. It acts as a wind block as well as adding some weight forward. I would like to find something similar for my regular cab. I just don't know how it would be held down being mine has no rain gutters?

I've seen a few older name brand campers that have added similar backup security too. :) It does appear to have a conventional latch. Perhaps it was easily pried open, or it has succumb to the lost key syndrome. Yes, it appears to be a no frills exterior. In summation, I like it.

As we likely have all witnessed from some of the other builds posted on this site, some people have real talent for such things, not to mention the equipment to make a good product on their own.

Yakima makes clamp on racks that don't require rain gutters.

Thanks. It appears that there is a dealer who does custom installations (drills holes in the roof) about an hour and a half away.

Hello Frank,

If I get to see one up close I might finally commit. Right now the main thing that holds me back is that I would get a great deal more use of the camper in the popped down position. If they would make it with an interior height of 60" in the closed condition I would be very much interested. Add a for real furnace and I'd be set.

Thanks, that's kind of Interesting, though I kinda wanted a shell with a furnace. I'd check them out, but the two nearest dealers don't have them in yet.

Looking at the first pic it looks like a custom commercial shell. Something along the lines of an ARE DCU

I don’t have em on this phone but I’ll add some pictures when I get home. I almost bought one like that for my colorado. ARE, workmate, and tradesman will make a topper like that for your truck.

tradesman by access MFG: i dont know mow much these are, but theyre more expensive than the ARE DCU units

Yes Casa..., that does seem to fit my wishful minimalist list. FYI, I only see 2 of the 4, maybe they are only duplicates?

The bottom 3 are the same camper. The first one is a different camper.

There’s some good threads on tacoma world if you search “aluminum truck camper” and “commercial truck camper” on there.

ARE is much cheaper than tradesman, they kinda start around $2400 and go up from there, optioned like the bottom one (I emailed the dude for his build sheet) and I was quoted ~$3300

Tradesman is MUCH more custom, heavier duty, and will reinforce, welds all 4 sides, etc I was quoted a bit under $7k for a 18” tall cabover on my colorado. But it was much more optioned etc.

Ultimately, my colorado is going back, and I’ve got a FWC up at ATC being refurbished and it’ll go on a new full size rig. We’ll see how it all goes.

I'm wondering if a furnace is workable in these caps? I have the impression that since they are not as insulated very well the furnace would operate much longer than normal.
