Hi Cory, it looks great ! What "helpers" are installed in the F-150 that it doesn´t sag ? Our super-Duty was not "touched " by the campers weight at all but this is another size. Whatever: We hope you enjoy your trip! Have fun after this hard piece of work!

Cory, we wish you the very best with your roof and that you get it sealed. Ours still leaks and we cannot find it. The shape was the same mess like yours. We sealed the center-line between the Aluminium sheets, between Aluminium and upper profile and the screws separately. Then sprayed it with...

Hi Cory, Great Progress. I love to see your Jayco coming together! I think it is much more stable than ours! Ok, may be a few pounds more but we also used thicker wood frame. We covered our´ s with some Melamin ( or similar moisture resistant stuff) outside. So i would recommend to paint the...

Ok, got it. There was a misunderstanding roof lift/ camper jacks. We wish you the very best, even Mr. Hurry is never a good help in repairing tricky things. Build it „ready to go“ this week and finish it later! Good luck and happy camping!

Hi Cory, i cannot believe that there is only one roof lift on your passengers side? We had two of them on every side... I cannot follow your idea with the cabover support Not a bad idea to leave the propane box out.So you willhave a much better access to the front right roof lift for...

Sorry, i am not sure what we ct out at this moment. I think we clamped the plywood that is now the bottom of the cabover storage, on to the frame, marked the cutoutsfor proper fit, did them and pushed the plywood farther to the camper. You can see the gap behind the marked cutout. This is shows...

You have a lot of firewood out there.... Paint the exterior wood ( covered by the aluminium later ) with some wood protect paint. We used special covered wood from kitchen furniture for it. And VERY IMPORTANT: Give all the regions around the roof lift some extra layers of paint and keep an eye...

HiCory, i can not see the pics at all. If you want to show me some special problems you can e-mail me at manfred.klement@goldmail.de. As i remember the cabover support was only fixed with some staples. The frame holds the camper together. The support only sat between the horizontal frame...

Hi Cory, thanky you very much for the "Blumen". We started like you but our intention was: If we don´t finish the project we know how these campers are built and may start a home- DIY-build for us. 2 Friends offered us a total of 2.5 gal of gas to set it on fire.... Today, after starting a...

Hi Cory, the panels are approx. 240 cm/ 94.5" on drivers side and 230 cm /90.5" passenger side long. Thickness is 1/2" / 12mm Like you see on the pics i had to cut out the fridge vent and exhaust. In the area where this panel is located the fram is this 1/2" thinner than on the rest of the...

Hi Cory, Thank you very much for the "Flowers". I am happy if our story can help or inspire others to start their rebuild! Like i wrote on page 1: Our intention was, if we fail with our work, that we would have learned how these campers are built. Friends offered me a total 8 gal of gas to...

Bad news on the Jayco....OK, not real news. The damaged roof leaked all the time ....only a few drops and it was no problem because we have not covered it inside to find the leaking spot one day. All the sealing wasn´t successful. I think there are some pinholes in the old aluminium sheeting we...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Restoring a 68 Siesta Pop-up and getting it to fit a newer style truck.

Great Job ! I built the same "Gauge" on our 92 Jayco but left it inside the cabinet. There was no possibility to build it save from damages in the corner. This solution is much better. I like the old Siesta!
