I just today installed my 78 inch bars on towers on my Yakima tracks. The 78 inch bars are perfect for the factory mounted tracks on a newer Hawk.

From what I know the 2030rv is either already out in a very limited quantity or is about to go out. The differences between the 2030 and 2025 is so little that I opted to get the 2025 now and not wait. Not to mention I was going to go with a different solar controller than the new controller...

I'm using the 500 amp shunt. I could be wrong but I seem to hear/see the 500 amp shunt used more often than the 100 amp shunt. I'm not sure why though.

Here's a picture of my battery box with the shunt installed. The Trimetric unit is easy to install if you closely follow the instructions, and there's a lot of instructions and information!

Thanks DrJ. Your battery box looks similar to mine and I'm guessing you have a newer camper. I was just out there trying to figure out a spot to install it and I came up with the exact same location that you did. Installing it where you did I could probably not install the battery temp sensor...

Craig...did you install the Morningstar Sunsaver MPPT? JHa...if it was done by FWC I believe they install PWM models, which have different requirements for clearances above and below it. If I'm not mistaken for Morningstar it's 2" above and below for the PWM and 6" above and below for the MPPT...

I just bought 78" bars for my 2013 Hawk from REI.

FWC told me the weight difference between the fiberglass and aluminum siding was neglible. Also, since the fiberglass is solid underneath, it can't be dented like the aluminum siding.

I agree...the paint of the truck is much more likely to get scratched than the fiberglass siding. Like Kilroy, I too haven't seen any issues with scratching of the fiberglass on my camper.
