RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Opened Turnbuckles

would you elaborate on how you utilized the derringers with the FWC in-bed mounting system? where did you add the J-hooks? could you provide a picture if you're still using this system, thank you.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Who runs, or has run, their 3 Way Fridge on propane while the truck is moving?

i ran across this blog article the other day regarding just this topic: http://home.earthlink.net/~derekgore/rvroadiervfulltimingwhatisitreallylike/id47.html (cliff notes version: run it while driving and turn it off to refuel)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2015 Hawk Shell (changed to base model)

just the tank, or the cabinet for the tank? they'll sell you the framed wall but won't tell you where the framing is by providing any dimensions - while i'm griping they also do a slack job of vacuuming the drill shards inside the camper prior to delivery- leaving aluminum and wood dust inside...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2015 Hawk Shell (changed to base model)

my Hawk was built in Sept 2014, i opted out of the standard furnace and installed a Truma E2400 furnace, which i just need to get plumbed properly (i.e. without leaks) - the euro furnaces use metric 8mm lines, so an adapter is required.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2015 Hawk Shell (changed to base model)

when considering my options prior to purchase, the factory quoted me a price of $500 to get the driver's side wall for a loaded Hawk on a shell model, this so the braces and framing were there for future modifications.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rotopax installed on FWC Hawk Backwall

i haven't had a chance to mount it yet but the mounting holes match my jack brackets. the thing is called the SawGrip www.sawgrip.com. it's the Vertical model used by the forest service in their trucks. i'll probably add a cable lock to secure the saw when mounted.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Has anyone thought of going lithium?

i had initially planned to install a lithium capable mppt solar controller but the highest wattage rating i could find was a Votronic at 350w, so i eventually settled on a Midnite solar KID for the 390w array. (with a firmware update this controller may be able to do lithiums, idk?)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rotopax installed on FWC Hawk Backwall

i have a gas/oil mix mounted on the lower rear passenger side for the chainsaw and a locked storage box for saw tools on the rear upper left side. the Vertical model SawGrip chainsaw mount will go on the driverside rear jack bracket when they are removed

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Wind Faring/ Deflector

i found headwinds & tailwinds to be more significant than camper drag in calm winds on the highways, lost maybe 3/4 of an MPG with the camper but still averaging about or above 16.5mpg (into the mid 20's in the mountains at elevation with declines) weight might be a bigger issue than drag

i remember when there were rumors about a round Bic pen barrel being all that was needed to pick open a Kryptonite barrel lock... ?
