RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic fan

I found one at a RV salvage yard and traded the 3 way fridge for it. It works great and the fridge got recycled! Salvage yards are great sources if you have the time.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Soaked Roof Pack/Headliner!?!

Thats a good idea pods, does anyone have a pic of that? Also the 3M 4200 sealant is the product that I used to seal my screws on the roof and headliner. May never remove them but at least no leaks so far.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Soaked Roof Pack/Headliner!?!

I had a pesky leak that I couldnt find, so I decided to take out every screw on the roof and side and reseal every single hole. I used a marine grade 3M seal in the screw holes and around the base of the screw heads. I replaced every rusty screw with stainless steel ones that I painted with...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West AZ, Roosevelt/Apache Lake area

Horseshow reservoir has a nice campground right next to the Verde river with Mesquite trees and not too far from Scottsdale. I would call to make sure that the road to the damn is open, it was closed due to slides a few years ago. Directions, This site is 23 miles northeast of Carefree...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane - wet or not?

The furance produces a warm dry air that is absorbed into your lungs and exhaled out as moist air. You loose moisture and your breath condenses on the inside of your camper/tent. Your are basicly a human humidifier! The combustible has very little to do with the moisture of the air, however it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Chopping off rear tail lights!

NTSQD- Thanks for the info on the weather paks! I am ordering some to finnish up the electrical. JCFLY- Taking out the rear lift and replacing the interior wall on the rear made the LED install simple. Since I already had the wiring in place for the tail lights, I just used what was there...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Chopping off rear tail lights!

So far, so good Skeeter. Nice pics. Will you be using a catalytic furnace or none at all? Thanks! Good question since I covered up the furance hole. I bought a "little buddy" heater and a battery powered carbon monoxide alarm. I only have to finnish up some trim and interior wiring and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Chopping off rear tail lights!

I got the courage to chop off the rear tail lights. I reused some of the framing material and pop riveted the verical braces to hold the foot stands. I also recycled the wood to fill in the floor pack. I used glue and staples to rebuild the side of the box. I also made upper lateral supports...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What is your MPG with FWC ?

I average 23-25 and got 30 mpg on my best trip. 98' Ranger with 2.5L engine carrying 98' Ranger II camper shell. I cruise it around 60-65 mph. Looking to upgrade to a 4.0L Ranger to improve hill climbing.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Public service announcement: generators

I just got back from Alaska, and some a-hole started his generator at 10:00 pm at night! It was posted no generators! I cannot travel far enough to get away from them! I totally agree with you DD. There is a place for them, but not next to a guy in a tent!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar

Randy, I bought a used Kyocera 65 watt panel off of Ebay for $190, and it is a very high quality. I would suggest that 65 watts be a minimum for your power needs. There is a spreadsheet on this website, but I could not find it on power consumption and the proper size solar panel. You just...
