RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lift Panel Replacement Help

FWIW AT Overland uses aluminum on the Atlas pop up camper folding end panels. I have not seen one in person but I will own one mid November after a 2000+mi trip to Salt Lake City to pick it up. I can update after that how thick and how well they work.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lithium charging too much?

I have the same Renogy DC-DC charger. The behavior of mine is exactly the same. My Battleborn Lithium battery sits at 14.6 if solar is charging. FWIW I have a 45A (IIRC) Progressive Dynamics Lithium specific* AC powered charger in my travel trailer. It too sits at 14.6 when the AC power is...

I don't think so. Source > me- retired from 27 years in the technical side of cellular.

I've seen it change itself to "pages". You hit "forums" on th right end of the search bar and it often works. Might have to do it a few times to get it to stick

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper battery charging woes - 4 pin round plug?

Do you have a test light or voltmeter? Most likely the hookup to the battery positive in the camper will also backfeed the 4 pin plug. If you find +12V with a test light or meter on that plug (not plugged into truck) that will be the battery wire. Once you determine +12 and GND I'd wire...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I got an electric F150

A youtube channel, TheFastLane Truck, did a trip to Deadhorse Alaska with a FWC on a Lightning. BTW IIRC Ford apparently says to NOT put a truck camper on the Lightning.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Maintenance on the 2013 ATC Bobcat

FYI- when I was prepping my 1999 Grandby for sale I used the Seal Grey to touch up its bottom, assuming they used the same grey with the two companies prior connection. They do not!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DeLorme Atlas

I too have the Gaia subscription- I just wish they'd update the aerials. Way out of date, which is puzzling because a few other free resources are MUCH more current. We own some land in the NC mountains and the aerials are several years old.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Maintenance on the 2013 ATC Bobcat

Curious what paint you used on the floor pack. I bought a gallon of Glidden's Premium Exterior in Seal Grey to do my 2018 Panther. Got one side done a few months ago and need to get it back off the truck so I can do the rest.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West roof "oil canning"

Hmmm- my 2018 Panther has a seam down the middle, pretty much the same as the 99 Grandby I sold.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Raising and lowering camper with jacks

I asked about hammer drills because many manufacturers of various jacks state to not use hammer drills. Reason is the impacts can over stress components and cause breakage. Not sure if that applies to truck camper jacks but I'm not taking the chance...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ATC wiring upgrade for Lithium

I would not mount a DC/DC charger in the engine compartment unless it was rated for very high heat and waterproof. I'm not aware of one that is. My setup is a 20A Renogy dual purpose MPPT and DC/DC charger, charging a 100AH LiFePo4 battery, it is mounted in the ATC on the front wall under the...

Aluminum pop rivits? I could see that happening if they have any movement against the ceiling. Which is probably likely. MAybe some sort of adhesive mylar dots applied over each rivit assuming the smooth side is up????

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Keep an eye out missing couple 395 Dyer area

I'll second the InReach. I've carried one for several years now- originally when I was riding a dual sport all over the NC mountains- which have many areas with zero cell coverage. It dawned on me at some point that I could go down an embankment, and be invisible to passersby. Then later...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Current Spike in Gas Prices

Costco $3.739 right now (Columbia, SC) - filled up there this morning at IIRC $3.699 $3.999 at stations near me. Terrible timing for me- we bought land in the NC mountains back in the summer and I haven't gone up enough to get significant work done on the driveway, which needs some light...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West House charge from truck

It is the 30A model. So far with a single 100A lithium battery and a rooftop 100W solar panel it has worked great.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West House charge from truck

OP doesn't say what truck he has but- Charge voltage depends on the truck- On my 2020 F150 there is a "battery management system" that controls charge voltage. Usually the truck runs around 13.2-13.4 IIRC- not enough to effectively charge the camper battery. BUT- you can unplug the sensor on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West $6M Truck Camper

If I had $6,000,000 to spend I'd buy an acre or so in multiple scenic spots to park my normal camper in as I traveled. Maybe spend $5,000,000 on land parcels and skimp on a $1,000,000 camper. No actually I would'nt - that is ridiculous- could have more than I ever wished for at $200,000...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Ford F-150 for my Hawk

Just backing plates. I do use some turnbuckles I've had through several truck campers over almost 30 years- the fronts have internal springs and the rears have some sort of internal rubber donut. I think they are HappiJac brand.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Ford F-150 for my Hawk

I had considered those Mule brackets back in April when I was heading out to AZ from SC to pick up a 2018 ATC Panther.. I kept looking at the pics online and could not figure how they would mount to my truck a 2020 F150 6.5 bed crew cab. Now looking at @rustytinbender pics I still don't see...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A few questions...

I believe the excess flow device is in the hose end or regulator input and not in the tank valve. I've read that plus I have a handheld weed burner that shoots massive flames out- it would trip the valve if it was in the tank I'm sure. It's hose does not have the excess flow device in it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help Sealing Screws on Chapel Hill NC Bobcat Roof

Yep IMO silicone is bad...I have come to hate the stuff. It leaves a residue and if a redo is ever needed nothing sticks well to silicone- not even silicone.
