RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Tundra

I just checked Toyota and the hybrid Tundra is available with a 6.5' bed in Limited trim. However, we asked about a CrewMax (non hybrid) with a 6.5' bed and our salesperson said they VERY rarely see them. Of course, they very rarely see any new trucks now-a-days (2-4 per month here). Per...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Tundra

Hi Stan, Thanks for the input! I haven't checked yet but I'm guessing the '23 Tundra beds are wider and deeper than my '04. Do you know if I'll need jack bracket extension plates? Or should I contact Brenda? Thanks, Tony

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Tundra

FYI - Michael Griffin, Sr. Application and Product Specialist. replied to my email asking about Ride-Rites for the 2023 Tundra this morning: "We are looking at the first quarter of 2023 for release. Guessing that will be late March 2023...."

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Tundra

Wandering Sagebrush, my searches find lots of sites that list Ride-Rites for Tundras but when I look, I can't find any for the '22's or '23's (the Tundras with rear coils). I sent Firestone an email asking for information. If/when they respond I'll post on this thread. Thanks, Tony

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Tundra

Wandering Sagebrush Hi Wandering Sagebrush, Thanks for prompting me to look farther. I originally checked Firestone at https://www.firestoneip.com/ride-rite/ and they didn't list any for the '22 or '23 Tundra but I just followed a link to eTrailer and they have two Airlift Kits but nothing...

Hi Patrick, I have thought of the side wall (bed depth) difference. I plan to built a platform to set the camper on per other posts on WTW. Thanks, Tony

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Tundra

Hi Frank, No I haven't. I hadn't thought of that but I will now. I'm becoming a little concerned with the purchase now. I have Ride-Rites on my 2004 Tundra and was checking Firestone for the 2023 and there is no listing for either 2022 or 2023 Tundras. I afraid the coil rear suspension may be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Tundra

I'm buying a 2023 Tundra and would like to use my Fleet on the new truck. I can't find any posts specifically about the 2022 or 2023 Tundras. Does anyone have any first hand experience with putting a FWC (or ATC) on the new Tundra? Thanks, Tony

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma wind struggles?

Looks to me like you have a fairly large space between the top of your cab and the bottom of the camper. I added a Yakima fairing to the top of my cab to deflect wind from passing trucks up and over the camper. It really helps. Should work the same for headwinds. Haven't measured an effect on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Broken frame welds, front of 2000 Grandby

I've tried to use the low temp alu. welding rods before (not from Harbor Freight) and could never get a clean "weld". Due to the frame flexing here, I don't think a low temp "weld" (solder?) would last very long. I'd use the triangular gusset with rivets repair myself.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Awning analysis paralysis...

x2 on the Sailrite products. My 2015 Fleet came with the C track installed on the rear for a (no longer available) FWC rear awning. I installed another piece of track on the passenger side. I added a piece of the Keder awning rope to a Kelty tarp (also no longer available) and can now use the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaska 2021

As a former Alaska resident I second pretty much everything I've read above. I'll add a few comments. August (four weeks) driving from Texas will be a very rushed trip. I've driven the highway several times in the last few years and 500 miles a day is about all I wanted to do. Alaska Hwy and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2012 Fleet in Gen 1 Tundra bed build-up question?

2015 Fleet in a 2004 Access Cab. Bought mine used in 2004 (< 1 year old @ 16K miles) and it has a hair over 108K miles (including 1 1/2 round trips to Alaska). You may be mixing up areas of concern: bed rail and cab height. I have about 17.5" bed depth (bed rail) with about 19" bed to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan variable speed control

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think the squeak has anything to do with the PWM controller. The fan squeaks when I spin the fan blades by hand and it has a cyclic sound. It sounds like the squeak is coming from the motor area. Maybe a bearing? I tried to remove the fan blades. I couldn't...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan variable speed control

Finally able to get back to this project. Everything installed and working. The controller is quiet but, unfortunately the fan squeaks in one direction. It squeaks venting out. Guess I never noticed with the noise from the high speed fan with the old controls. Thanks for everyone's help. Tony

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan variable speed control

Sorry to revive this old thread but I discovered it last year and am only now working on the mod. But I'm confused. I've looked at all the photos on this thread but I can't quite see enough details. I can't make out how everything's wired. I have the DROK controller referenced in Ozy's post...
