I'm buying a 2023 Tundra and would like to use my Fleet on the new truck. I can't find any posts specifically about the 2022 or 2023 Tundras.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with putting a FWC (or ATC) on the new Tundra?

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Frank,

No I haven't. I hadn't thought of that but I will now.

I'm becoming a little concerned with the purchase now. I have Ride-Rites on my 2004 Tundra and was checking Firestone for the 2023 and there is no listing for either 2022 or 2023 Tundras. I afraid the coil rear suspension may be a problem.

I wonder what else I haven't thought of......

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Patrick,

I have thought of the side wall (bed depth) difference. I plan to built a platform to set the camper on per other posts on WTW.

Thanks, Tony

Hi Wandering Sagebrush,

Thanks for prompting me to look farther. I originally checked Firestone at https://www.firestoneip.com/ride-rite/ and they didn't list any for the '22 or '23 Tundra but I just followed a link to eTrailer and they have two Airlift Kits but nothing from Firestone. Still not finding any Ride-Rites for the new Tundras. Would you forward me the link you found to the Ride-Rites or the part number please?

Thanks,
Tony

Tony, the search showed eTrailer as having them, but I didn’t go to their website to drill down. I had Airlift bags on my 2007 Ranger, with no issues. I believe ski3pin is still running them on his 2002 Ranger

Wandering Sagebrush, my searches find lots of sites that list Ride-Rites for Tundras but when I look, I can't find any for the '22's or '23's (the Tundras with rear coils). I sent Firestone an email asking for information. If/when they respond I'll post on this thread.

Thanks,
Tony

FYI - Michael Griffin, Sr. Application and Product Specialist. replied to my email asking about Ride-Rites for the 2023 Tundra this morning:

The 2022/2023 Toyota Tundra trucks seem really nice.

But they do have a plastic/composite truck bed (like the 2005-2022 Toyota Tacoma trucks).

No big deal.

Just requires different camper tie down brackets to be mounted in the truck bed, and will set you back a few extra dollars for the install kit.

(steel bed bars, instead of the forged eye bolts)

Brenda in our service department can give you cost for the brackets.

brenda@fourwh.com or 530-419-2426

PS: The new 2022 tundra tie downs brackets are expensive. :(

Hi Stan,

Thanks for the input!

I haven't checked yet but I'm guessing the '23 Tundra beds are wider and deeper than my '04. Do you know if I'll need jack bracket extension plates?

Or should I contact Brenda?

Thanks,
Tony

As to high side rails, I use stock pads on my 2013 Tundra. They can be purchased at places like tractor supply.
I'd like the 2023 tundra with turbocharged, hybrid V6 but as far as I know, they only sell it as crew cab with 5.5' bed.

I just checked Toyota and the hybrid Tundra is available with a 6.5' bed in Limited trim. However, we asked about a CrewMax (non hybrid) with a 6.5' bed and our salesperson said they VERY rarely see them. Of course, they very rarely see any new trucks now-a-days (2-4 per month here).

Per Toyota, the 4x4 CrewMax Limited hybrid with 6.5' bed has a payload of 1665# vs. the 4x4 Double Cab SR5 with standard V6 at 1885#. A major reason we bought the truck was for the extra payload.

I'm planning on putting my ATC Panther on a 2023 Tundra double cab with the 6.5ft bed. What have others done to prep for the install? Platform, tie down bars, springs, airbags, etc?

Thanks,
Bruce
