Here is the info on the 135 w/ measurements... I didn't see info on the 235, but you can compare what you have to this. Thetford 135

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eagle/Ranger bed mod.

Whenever you're up for it... just let me know. I should be around Saturday afternoon if you're available. It is going to be a mad modding month... new batteries, couch/bed modification, power inverter, fuseblocks, awning, 2 meter and maybe a stereo in the camper if I get really ambitious...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eagle/Ranger bed mod.

Okay... thanks for checking that. I was playing around in our Hawk tonight with some blocks of wood to simulate the new height etc. I ended up with about the same height of "wall" and about 21.5 inches or so to the seating surface. Kyle

TT- What is the seat height now? Is the couch still comfortable to sit on or do you feel like you are sitting there like a little kid w/ your feet dangling. :) I'm looking at making this mod as well and that was the one thing I was curious about. Thanks, Kyle

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions on Setting up an auxillary power system in my FWC

I'm still working on the dual battery option... there are several vehicles w/ wet cell batteries inside w/ venting systems. I'm checking into those to see if they are both feasible and something I feel comfortable with. We shall see... I want to get this done before we go on our Utah trip in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Back end sag.....

84 with a few clouds and a touch of sprikinkles earlier just to keep us honest. Another chamber of commerce day here in The Old Pueblo. Shhh... don't tell them that... everyone will want to come here! It is actually 120 right now. It is so dry that you turn into a raisin as soon as you walk...

Yep... love the Bilsteins over the stock shocks. I'd offer you a ride to check em out... but might be a little far from Seattle to Tucson. :) Kyle

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions on Setting up an auxillary power system in my FWC

Yes, they are a wet cell and would need to be vented... I have been looking into that as well. Whether I'm better of trying to vent them from a mounting location inside the camper somewhere or if I should buy/build a mount for them under the truck somewhere. I was under the truck yesterday...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions on Setting up an auxillary power system in my FWC

I've been looking into "building" a 12 volt battery out of two 6 volt batteries. Reason being is that you can get much high amp hours vs 12 volt batteries for the the same or less cost. This has been discussed quite extensively on the expeditionportal board, but I haven't seen much of any...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions on Setting up an auxillary power system in my FWC

Jay, Are you asking why to isolate the system from the truck or why you would isolate the 2 camper batteries from each other? Isolating the truck batteries makes sense to me so that even if you use up all the power in the camper either purposely or by mistake leaving something on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West corner jacks

It looks like Rieco has changed the design of their brackets. The new brackets are wider and interfere w/ the refrigerator access on the rear corner of the camper. I guess looking at the pics in this thread, I would be okay in modifying their brackets to clear the access door. Thoughts?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Back end sag.....

MMM... Diesel.... Just stay w/ the 5.9 CTD for decent fuel economy. If your current truck is fine w/ the above exceptions, you're probably fine either way you go. Shocks won't help your ride height unless you go with air shocks (not recommending that) so springs would be the first...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West June southern Utah trip

Hi all, My wife and I are working on planning a trip with our pooch to southern Utah in early June. We know about the "issues" with dogs in several of the national parks so will be avoiding or only passing through some of them. We are most interested in areas to primitive camp or where outdoor...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions on Setting up an auxillary power system in my FWC

I'm working on "tweaking" the power system in my FWC. I will be adding a DC to AC Inverter as well as a few other odds and ends. I've been using the spreadsheet from the wander the west site to calculate my total amp draw. It looks like I will have 2 separate systems, one in the truck and one in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eagle heater question

The previous owner did just that in our Hawk. He froze his arse off one night and decided to turn it around and said it was much better. I only know that it will chase you out of the camper now in a matter of a few minutes... it works quite well and makes for a happy wife! :thumb:

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag suggestions

My Dodge was built in Mexico too... My wife and I talk about this from time to time and think it is somewhat odd that the only vehicle we have that was built in the US is her Toyota! (well, the Jeep was built in the US too.. but that is over 20 years old now).

Nice setup. I used to have a S10 ZR2 before I bought the Dodge. That was a fun truck. It handled great, looked good. I just got tired of replacing ball joints and idler arms... but oh was it fun to drive!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air conditioning on a Hawk???

Where are you located? Are you somewhere where a evaporative cooler would suffice? If so, the Swampy is a good solution. It is a DC powered evaporative cooler... you can see the details of it here. I as well as some others on this site have one. I have used mine in the garage so far, but...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tech Tip: Auto-Relighter for Propane Refrigerators

I'm guessing the fridge model might have something to do with it as well... I have run mine completely on propane the few trips we've used it on and it has yet to blow out. (knocks on wood) The trips have included everything from interstate travel at 70 to 80 mph and all day offroad stints...

Jay, Hope you're feeling better and that all is well. I'll have to take your word that your loopiness is from the drugs since that's the first time I've talked w/ you. For what it is worth, you didn't sound all that loopy... I'm using the cheapie MV-50 that you used to be able to get for...

When you start talking about this kind of power draw, you may also be interested in using a circuit breaker or even better, a self resetting circuit breaker rather than a fuse. They work really well for something that you know may have higher than *acceptable* power draw on occasion. I have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West For Those Running Air Bags

Yes, I can tell a big difference. I went through the park area near my house (Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park) that has some ups and downs and twisty turny roads (yes, that is a technical term) and the truck handles w/ the airbags almost like it does w/o the camper on! I was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West For Those Running Air Bags

No, I only do a 4 tire rotation. The tire under there is actually the best of my previous set before I replaced them w/ my current tires. The rim also doesn't match those on the truck... so... But yes a good point for everyone that goes w/ the non factory size tire... especially if you go...
