I just finished installing the Firestone Ride Rites in my Dodge w/ the Lorenz DP Leaf Springs. The install went pretty smoothly and I am impressed w/ the fit/finish/quality of the Firestone kit. The only part I wasn't crazy about was the bolts they use to mount the upper bracket... I HATE...

I've been playing with this in my Jetta as well. I haven't hooked it up to the truck yet, but will do that when we go on a long trip with it. You can also create your own XGuages too. I've added transmission temperature, Distance to Empty and a few other combinations of Fuel monitoring.

I went w/ the Firestone kit. Main reason is that Sean Lorenz is working at designing a long travel kit around them so hopefully I won't have to replace them when he gets his kit done. I'll just have to buy the extra components that he has developed. If I wasn't concerned about the future...

I don't think of it as being any less stout than before... it definitely has softer spring rates though. These springs have a softer 6 leaf primary than the 4 leaf stock primary and a progressive secondary with 5 leaves rather than the 1/2 thick or so single leaf secondary that the stock...

Jay, I'm usually running around town in the Jetta, 40 mpg vs. 19 or so in the Dodge. We should plan a get together sometime though... there is 1 or 2 others in Tucson too... aren't there? Perhaps w/ should move this to another thread instead of hijacking this one. :) Kyle
