RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West All Terrain Camper Cougar Pictures

Jay, I know I keep asking...but could you provide some detail on how the "new" awning is attached to the camper. Awning rail?...Source? How about a source for the fabric? Thank you~

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another LED upgrade

Excuse the fence which made its way into the pictures... The trash cans are nice too. I really like the blue one with the flat top surface. Handy when working on the truck to set tools and parts on. Unfortunately, mine are like the other one which have a sloped surface and things won't stay...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Transmission Cooler

I have heard (regarding other trucks) that if the trans gets too hot , the front seal can soften and leak while hot and under pressure. When it cools it is normal. An aux. cooler is good life insurance if you are pulling a load. Here is a good source for (stacked plate) coolers. It's not...

Try 4WH first. Also, perhaps a local plumber that works with PEX products may be able to help.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West So what did you do to your camper this week?

I finally installed a Comfort Air, Gold vent fan. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/shurflo-comfort-air-fans-gold-series/31463 It was less than the Fantastic fan. Has reverse and a variable speed control, instead of three speed. Install was easy. Pulls ~2.5A on high. Like the ability to...

Next I want to figure out a good solution to upholstery and dogs. A old bed sheet works.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West So what did you do to your camper this week?

I have the same. Office type or outdoor carpet seems to hold up the best. You can always take it out and vacuum or hose it. I also have a small 2'x3' throw rug in the entry which catches most of the dirt as you enter and is easily removed and shaken out during camping. Captures a lot of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West San Juan Mountains

I had battery issues I would suspect the batteries, after all they are a "wear-out item". A Hydrometer is cheap will show the status of each cell. I am surprised this isn't mentioned more often when batteries are discussed. Jeff

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What is your MPG with FWC ?

Two years ago, I set out on a quest to find a perfect truck that my older Granby would fit. Found a '97 F250 XLT 4x4 long bed power-stroke, with 113k for $9k. Mint condition, one owner, who was an older gent. Drove 500 miles to Carson City, NV to get it. Gets 17 mpg. It is a dedicated camper...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A new door for an old Granby

Mine was held together with duct tape and spit...Had to push it up and slam to close. Never did lock. New door closes like, a sweet kiss. Getting the screen door was the real treat. Now have to do the front window screen mod. Even got the wifey to pay for it!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A new door for an old Granby

Barko, An issue I noticed is that with the deeper door frame, the threshold is only supported the depth of the 1" alum frame tubing. I got a piece of 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 wood and trimmed it on the table saw to make a snug fitting shim about 1-1/4 x 1-1/2 x the width of the door. I ran a few screws...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The demise of Empire Nevada

DD, perhaps we should plan a return trip to Blackrock once you are campered again? Maybe even an actual rally with Gandolph cooking. It wouldn't change Gerlach's fate but it might be a last opportunity to experience the location. An excellent idea!
