It might be worth giving an idea of your budget. My truck and camper cost under 5k (including some day 1 repairs and upgrades) but a 30+ year old truck isn't for everyone. Spending more for something made in the 2000s makes a lot of sense.

Cedar Breaks National Monument is a great view and there is plenty of good boondocking in the area. It's about half way between Zion and Bryce.

I've used the ProGrip ones that Old Crow mentioned for tying down large objects. They come in a variety of sizes and work great. Fwiw most turnbuckles have lower ratings than even a small eye bolt.

Anyone do the Overland expo near Flagstaff this year? That was pretty windy but it looked like most came through it in one piece.
