RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Keystone!

Congrats! Looks great! What i suggest (and it seems like youre doing it) is to use it as is for a bit and THEN design the mods and replacements. Whats in your head now may not be the best solution after you spend some time in it and realize this would be better over here, that would be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bolting A Slide in FWC Hawk to a Flatbed Questions...

Hey All I am in the process of converting my 2014 Tundra DC to a scratch built flatbed and mounting my 2018 Hawk Front Dinette to it permanently. Fabricator friend is going to be building this flatbed from 100% scratch and completely custom for my needs. Since it will be 100% custom built, we...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Converting to 6v Batteries? Can i keep the 12s too?

Thanks All. I just picked up (2) Centennial CB6-250s to replace the stock (2) 12v Dekas and will be adding almost 100ah. I will NOT be keeping the 12v batteries and NOT adding them. Thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacing an inefficient Zamp solar kit with a Overland kit

Personally, I don’t see the benefit.. I upgraded my lift struts and the roof takes the same amount of pressure to lift now than it did without solar. That’s a non issue. For me, I’d prefer tried and true reliable versus something new to the market that hasn’t really seen 4-5 years of extreme...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacing an inefficient Zamp solar kit with a Overland kit

Yes, the ones I am using are mono.. Newpowa 175W 175 Watt 12V... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0772PD96K?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share CORRECTION, after just checking my amazon orders, I am using one of their 175 watt panels in the front and their 100 watt panel in the rear (to fit with second vent)...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacing an inefficient Zamp solar kit with a Overland kit

Vic Yeah, the NewPowa 175 watt panels are the same dimensions as the Renogy 100 watts and fit PERFECTLY between the frame rails and even fit nicely behind the second vent. Highest rated on amazon and very affordable. Highly recommended. I camp in any conditions, shade, rain, etc... But I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacing an inefficient Zamp solar kit with a Overland kit

I did my own solar based on Vic and others advice here. I am running the Victron system with both the battery monitor and the MPPT monitor. I am running (2) 175 watt NewPowa panels on the roof for a total of 350 watts. I BRIEFLY had a portable with my old setup, and it was a pain in the ass...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Converting to 6v Batteries? Can i keep the 12s too?

Thanks for all the advice guys! Based on the responses here and in the FB group, if anything, I will just replace the 12s with the 6s and not try to combine them all. I ordered the 12v adapter for the cpap and will try that with my current configuration! THANK YOU

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Converting to 6v Batteries? Can i keep the 12s too?

That’s actually a damn good idea! Thank you!! I’m new to the CPAP world and didn’t even know 12v operation was an option! Thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is my buddy smarter than I?

Another thing to consider is polarity of the plug to your buddies panel. Unless its a ZAMP brand panel, chances are 90% it will have its polarity backwards for how the FWC is wired.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Converting to 6v Batteries? Can i keep the 12s too?

Hey All Loving my 2018 Hawk and this group! I just got a CPAP and want to use it while traveling as well. I've been contemplating the switch to 6v for some time, and just had an idea. I'm a barebones type of guy and travel light. I am currently running the (2) stock deep cycle 12v that came...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which truck for FWC flat bed?

I have a 2014 Tundra 5.7L with a SLIDE IN Hawk. I am offroad more than most, and tend to drive the harder spots and trails. I can say with 100% certainty, the Tundra, regardless of what suspension mods are done to it, is not an ideal platform, especially for the heavier flatbed. Will it...
