RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The End of the Beginning, The Beginning of the New Chapter

Here she is, I can honestly say - pure joy! Home is where you hang your hat. Picked this up when chalking at an arts festival and been waiting to add it to my camper: Here's a spontaneous 'toodle', sauntered off an exit on the way home and found this wee slice of heaven: More interior...

Mad respect to the Lady's Father. I am so sorry about your loss. What a courageous man.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sightings thread

Weds April 4 driving south on 101 from Bandon OR through Humbolt County I passed not one but two Alaskans driving north. Didn't pick up more details since we were heads-on and moving, but I couldn't help but hoot and wave a hand out the window. I figure the odds of seeing two Alaskans in one day...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West We've got our new Grandby!

Great setup! I also have a F350 '17 - wanted that payload capacity - and feel like I should have a sign on the back saying, " The size of this truck was not my design" Have you noticed that people seem to dive out of the way when they see your truck coming? :P The whole rig looks well...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Point Reyes National Seashore - March 2018

Thank you!! Good to know about those sites. This is within a couple hour's drive from me and I'm on the lookout for truck camper friendly spots within shouting distance. Another restaurant experience nearby is Vladimir's Czech restaurant in Inverness. Haven't been in years - I think Vladimir...

That's what it's all about! Thanks for sharing, my dog and I are mind-camping looking at these pics. Looks like a great setup all 'round; rig, dogs, campsite. Here's to more good times ahead!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tiny Houses

Gold stars to Riz and Vic! Love it! I've literally had the same thought/discussion about buying land and putting tiny houses/small cottages on it with friends..whole separate philosophical discussion but from the standpoint of having a community and one own's possibly more affordable space...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Done something really stupid?

Cayuse, are you channeling my Dad? That sounds like one of his philosophical lines ..hahaha... FYI when they were, um, bewildered at Lake Serene he missed his flight back. There's another story, " Tent on Fire at 25000 Feet " but not so relatable to us here, except the survive the stupid part!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sanitizing water containers

Thanks for the double-check ya'll....clean water being rather important for some reason... I did not know about the 1yr-open info or double checking the label. Good info! As for critters coming out the water...GAH.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sanitizing water containers

Hi everyone - I’ve recently come across some water containers that look handy, but want to double check how best to sanitize them. Generally what I’ve heard is initial wash with water and dish soap, then one teaspoon bleach to one gallon ( or quart - gotta look up again ), rinse about/sit for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Done something really stupid?

This story isn't me, but my Dad's and it is so worth telling. To paraphrase his better in-person recollection: My Dad and his two best buddies got together for a mini reunion. The three of them were 'old school' mountaineers and climbers in the most extreme sense; they put up first ascents in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Frozen weather, frozen stuff. Is it still functional?

Slightly off topic but kinda relevant: I'm allergic to mold too, when it started cropping up in my little house I wiped it off the ceiling/walls with tea tree oil ( diluted of course.) Worked great, though for a really moldy job I'd probably combo 409 or something of the sort and follow...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Can't Find Your Keys....Again?

Shoot I wear my house keys on a lanyard...around town...yes I'm that bad ( Garage door is fickle!! ) This thread has reminded me I need another lanyard for my truck keys so thanks for the reminder! :D

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

Not for everyone, but this LOVELY object is a wetsuit torso n' duct tape over a new ( duh ) gas can. Hot water in, cools off a bit but stays warm. Of course chopping up my old wetsuits can also provide insulation for thermoses, yard-sprayer showers, etc...etc...make good rags too and they're...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

Packrat read my mind...I was literally out and about in the truck on different roads and a parking lot while you were typing. Plus a wee hike of course. Life circumstances have me doing nearby little trips for quite a while so plenty of time for me to get loco with lists and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

I do think the first time I take it to a gas station will be most interesting....also like Canyon noted, a toughie spot is the front right. Right turns are also a learning curve for sure. The backup camera, I could write love sonnets about that! One thing I'm so grateful for is my very brief...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

Ooo another good idea, Rusty. I'm a big fan of headlamps...but then I forget the 'obvious place' where I put them! Wheel base is 164.2". And it's so high up I have said it's like sitting in a hot air balloon, nice touch HappyJax :)

8 CO, nice clean line. I also can't really justify that heated seats are 'practical', but, well, maybe they are....yeah.... If anyone has questions about the byzantinium Ford option packages, feel free to holler. I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure that out and tweaking it to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

The bed is a regular utility far as I reckon, but I asked Bryan @ Alaskan and he said they particularly liked the way AC fit with Skaug. Price was the same as others I checked, so I figured, let's do this right the first time. Not worrying about resale value definitely freed me up...can't help...

IT'S A GIRL!!! F350 xlt 4x4 diesel. Manual 4x4 shift, fog lights, carpet delete. Drove it off the lot through the nastiest local freeways right to a park, looked at birds and took a long quality nap in the front seats. Due to my messy lifestyle - big dog, water sports, art supplies that...
