Four wheel camper in bear country

I just spend 5 weeks camping in BC, Yukon, NW Territories. Lots of bear signage to be careful. Sometimes bear scat next morning around my camper. I didn't do anything special and had no problems. I sure had a big can of bear spray though, especially during my nightly "walk".

    Sightings thread

Saw this in the Yukon last week. I got the story from a gov truck that pulled up to check it out just as I was about to leave. Couple rolled their truck, no one injured, it was about a month ago. My truck in the background.

    Dometic cooling

I have a 2012 Dometic 65. I've never used it in this kind of heat, consistent 100+ degree days. Freezer works well with temps in the 0 to 10* range but I can't get the main part of the fridge below 50*. Batteries operating at 90% or greater. I know from 100* to 50* is 50* of cooling, but its...

White Rim Road March 28-31st - EPIC

Wow, this is great! I was just in Moab for the first time a few weeks ago. Was with my brother who has a Jeep Rubicon so we were on some technical stuff. But I had my eyes on returning with my 2005 Tundra/Fleet to do the White Rim. It doesn't look like you have any lift, and neither do I...

FS - Tacoma brackets and mat, new

I ordered a new Tacoma, 6' bed, and picked up the brackets and mat in advance since I was at FWC for another reason. I have since decided to keep my 2005 Tundra, so need to sell these. These are new, never installed. Price with tax was $433. Sell for $300. This stuff is really heavy, so...

Rookie FWC Owner Looking for Insurance Tips

Unfortunately I'm one of the few people I've heard about that has actually had damage to their camper. So I've gone through the claim process. Last Jan I was in the curvy section going down to Panamint Springs in Death Valley. A car carrier cut a curve and ran into me totaling my truck and...

who has made move from first gen Tundra to Tacoma?

I've got a 2005 double cab Tundra, 4x4, with the small V8. it is comfortable, reliable and the V8 is so nice. However, it is big (for me) and the turning radius is terrible. I live in Bishop, am retiring in a few weeks, and would like something smaller to explore all the trails available to me...

    shore power mystery

I recently had repair work on my camper that required FWC to remove and replace the driver side siding. To do this FWC had to remove the shore power plug. When I got the camper back plugging in the shore power kept popping the gfi. To diagnose I plugged in just the power cord to the gfi and...

What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

was at FWC Woodland on Monday, I was picking up my camper that had been repaired. I saw this install and really liked it. I had not looked or read about solar installs for years and was surprised that they have gone to all flexible panels. I just remember the nightmare I had with the first...

    Gray water pipe on Tacoma/Fleet?

I currently have a first gen Tundra with a Fleet. The bed is wide enough that I have room for a 4" PVC gray water pipe along the inside of bed. I'm looking to get a new Tacoma. Is there room on the side or any creative way to have a gray water pipe on a Tacoma/Fleet. I would sure miss it if...

Tacoma - current gen vs next gen as platform for FWC

I’m looking at getting a new Tacoma and wonder if it’s worth waiting to see what the next gen will be, it could possibly be the 2023 model year which is not much more than a year from now. I’ve read that it will be built on a new frame platform like the new Tundra and will replace the rear...

Fleet on 2019 Tacoma - truck bed build-up required?

interesting. do you have a link to the material and any pictures of how you attached? It sounds like you added to the bottom of the camper, you did not build a frame in the truck bed, which I'd like to avoid.
