Any suggestions on 12v interior lighting?, and fan for fridge

I think my question might apply to this thread. Does anyone know of a source of standard homeowner ac style switch face plates (2 3/4 X 4 1/2) that would accept a RV DC switch like ...

    Fire Extinguisher

I was reading a discussion on another rv board about fire extinguishers. They are talking about more expensive models, but as JHanson said...Cost? A heck of a lot less than a replacement vehicle... For your reading enjoyment: https://www.classbforum.com/forums/f8/fire-extinguishers-8540.html Pat

Which Sealant, Adhesive or Caulk to Use? Depends on the Application.

Craig, Thanks for the sound advice. I am an idiot...I have a couple rubber grommets that will fit perfectly sitting in my shop. I will use them tomorrow. The battery cables enter on the side wall and are somewhat protected. This is just additional protection. Pat

Which Sealant, Adhesive or Caulk to Use? Depends on the Application.

OK, so what would be best for sealing the gap around a large battery cable going though a hole in aluminum? Nice to have it slightly flexible, not silicone and it would be pretty much shielded from UV. Thanks for any suggestions.

Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

A component source I like to use for "true" Anderson connectors is Powerwerks. For the 120 connectors they have a list of cable gauge options: Anderson Power Products SB120 SB Series 120 Amp Connector Kit

    Truck - Camper Breaker Question

.....Not necessarily what I would choose for professional use but how many large connectors does one need to install on an ongoing basis.?..... I too use to think that was my case. It is surprising the number of times I have found a use for a good crimped cable. Granted I have old farm...

    Camper jacks when camping

Had some time today and finally took a couple pictures of the truck and camper. So far so good. I like it and notice there are no jacks mounted. They are in the barn. I thank all for the input, as always, you are very helpful.

    Looking to replace/ upgrade batteries

My 7+ year old AGM batteries in the van finally need to be replaced. They have been trouble free up to now. Right now I am considering replacing them with 4 new AGM batteries. My new pop-up on the other hand has a lithium, which of course in great, but will require care and attention over the...

    An electrical Question

I can see a potential issue if a standard breaker was upside down. In that case...off would be up.

    An electrical Question

I am in the process of changing some of the wiring in my camper. Does anyone know if it matters if the Blue Sea 285-Series Circuit Breaker - Surface Mount is mounted sideways? It would make it easier to route some wires if I can mount the breaker sideways instead up up/down. Stay healthy, Pat

    Camper jacks when camping

Good points. I tend to fish in wooded areas that have a lot of brush on the sides of the narrow roads. Just was concerned that I was not seeing the bigger picture that might say to carry the jacks. So I will remove them when I finally pick up the camper in a week. Thanks

    Camper jacks when camping

What is the general rule for traveling with the camper jacks? Do most people keep them attached to the camper or just take them off and leave them at home? Thanks

    Maximum camper size

I ended up with a length of 100" so with trim it is about 102-103. Someone took a picture showing 102" to the end of the tail lights. The tailgate won't be needed to support anything. Just trying to maximize space without any overhang. Not sure what they chose for width. Will ask.

    Maximum camper size

I am in the process of having a slide-in camper build for a 2022 3500 SLE Double cab, Long bed, 4WD. One questions is what is the largest size that will fit to the end without the tailgate installed? So if I were to create the largest box 5 feet tall that could slide into the truck bed and...

FWC Electrical basics and upgrading to lithium!

What is a "great" way to pass the charging cable from the truck alternator though a slide-in camper wall? I would prefer not to do the grommet and caulk method or have a bulky conduit box. The plan is to run 1/0 cable from the alternator to the front of the truck bed. From there connect to the...

Can a Li battery be charged by a generator?

They did have that constant thrill of not working. Usually at night in the rain. I remember removing the starter and taking it to a shop that said it would take them a long time to get around to rebuilding. Ended up making a wood cover over the hole where it was mounted as it took over a year...

Can a Li battery be charged by a generator?

Brings back memories. I too had a TR4A and one thing that was never reliable was the electrical system. Finally replaced with a Delco alternator with built-in regulator. Problems solved.

XP Camper Relaunched as Nimble Vehicles

Thanks for the input. I am trying to make sense of the regulations at my state's motor vehicle site as to what is commercial since that could be an big factor. A 3/4 ton would work for just the truck camper but we will need to pull a 2000# trailer at times with the camper installed. Right now...

XP Camper Relaunched as Nimble Vehicles

Can someone point me in the direction of a discussion on what is the best all around 1 ton truck for a flatbed camper? One that would see much highway and dirt/gravel roads driving to streams and little to no rock climbing. Thanks

XP Camper Relaunched as Nimble Vehicles

Has anyone been able to look at a Nimbl Evolution? Of course it looks great but that is only from the very limited media that I can find. My requests for information from the company are always promptly answered. They clearly are a good group. But, I would like to hear from anyone who has...
