RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane regulator failure

I don't seem to be able to take a small enough image so I'll describe it. It leaks from a small knob off of the main part of the regulator. There is a screen on it. Not a joint or hose connection. To get by last weekend I purchased a different style. The regulator is smaller and right next to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 6volts- did I trash my new batteries?

Thank you old crow. I will start digging around a little bit more. And read those other links you sent. I'm at work now so it's a little hard to screw around. I am aware that that monitor with the four lights is not a very good way to understand your power and consumption. I looked at a monitor...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 6volts- did I trash my new batteries?

I see. Yes I have that switch. I never disengage it or turn it off. I leave it engaged when I plug it in as well as when I'm on the road.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 6volts- did I trash my new batteries?

I bought two 6v Trojan batteries about 2 years ago. They no longer hold a charge per the 4 light gauge on my grandby. I have an 80 watt panel on the roof. During the day the lights a show a full charge. After dark only 3 lights shine. I always plug it in when I return from a trip. Did I trash...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Upgrade Door replacement

My door is awful due to wind and my gf smashing the door into the wall step. I'd like to get away from the flat latch and go to a door knob. Any opinions on knob versus the flat latch? good or bad?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar Questions

That is a really slick system. What amount of weight does this add to your roof? I've also read about keeping airflow but, this does not appear to be an issue for you. My panel sits below the enclosure 1" so, it's somewhat protected from me moving kayaks up there.

Longhorn- Not sure what you decided on how to mount your panel but, if you have a the extra lugage racks on there you can do this. It means you don't have to mount into the roof. It did create another issue for me though as the solar wiring was directly under the rear bar.

Sage- Neither, I think. She's a regular GSP. Both griffon and drathaar have beards, right? My girlfriend doesn't like the beard, which it weird since I have one. Bill- Thanks for the article. Bwht4x4- I sent you a PM with my email.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical Questions

It appears that FWC wires the batteries together and then connects the camper to one battery. A friend of mine suggested this "I’d connect the solar to the positive on one battery and the negative on the other battery . Do the same thing with the wires that send power to the camper" Does this...

According to the Exide site, they don't have a dealer here. Or maybe the search mode wasn't working. Better to take the full on hunting discussion offline. There is another hunter on this site, from CA, who might be able to offer you some out of state advice, if he reads this. I'll send you a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical Questions

Bwht4x4- What brand are those batteries? I read the reviews on the Cabelas AGM and several people were fairly disatisfied as they only got a year of use out of it. Maybe they are not the norm or they abused the battery too much. Cabelas stated the battery is designed for 600 discharges and one...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical Questions

Thanks. I was curious if FWC made their own jumpers or if they bought some manufactured ones. Looks like I will be ok to make some, if I decide to get 2. I see they put the batteries in containers. Are the containers loose? or glued down? I'm assuming they would not screw them down as the must...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical Questions

I plan to take my battery out and replace it with a Cabelas AGM. I spent the last 2 nights out on a cold river bottom without a recharge of the system. I ran the furnace for around 5 hours( a guess). I have all LED bulbs. This morning the LED was claiming 1/3. After a 2 hour drive home, it was...

pvstoy- You wrote "Over a long period of time this will hurt your battery and evaporate out the water if it is a wet cell" Can you define a long period of time? I still have my original single battery my Grandby came with. I've left the camper plugged in for a several 2 day periods just to cool...
