RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck and Camper Dropped Off Lift

When I scheduled a shock upgrade at 4Wheel Parts for previous truck (2007Tacoma)they made me take the camper off before they would place the truck on their lift. They said it was b/c the standard cab (not access or double) threw off the balance and they were concerned it would slide off the lift...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Names

Last tacoma was named Buck Edmond Truck. Buck E. Truck or "Bucky" for short. Named after my all time favorite cat. New tacoma yet to be named. Never named the camper. The most clever FWC name I've ever heard of was "The Tardis".

Using a lagun swinging table, mounted to the side of the floor pack allows me to work and eat from the table and allows one other person to sit on the opposite side of the table as well. The beauty of it all is the mount can be swung back into place in the table can be put away if more room is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suspension for 2nd gen Tacoma with Fleet?

Before I changed out the springs, I added some of those airbags. Never was satisfied with that. Never had any confidence in them.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suspension for 2nd gen Tacoma with Fleet?

The FWC dealer in Boise, Idaho also manufactures spring sets. Because he understands the nature of the camper, I ordered some beefed up rear springs from him. It was a pretty good deal. They made them and shipped them all the way to Tacoma, Washington for around $400. The cost is probably higher...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Should I avoid a Fleet/Tacoma combo because of overweight?

I have a Fleet on a second GEN Tacoma. My Tacoma is a base model and only has a four-cylinder engine. I beefed up the springs on the back and added adjustable shocks on the front, increasing the front height 1 inch. Although I wish I had more power when it is time to drive uphill, I have not...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Need to borrow jacks - in Reno - April 4 or 5.

Hi folks. I recently drove some tough roads in DV and was not aware of a loose turnbuckle. When I hit a tough spot the Fleet popped up and the turnbuckle came off the connection and ended up below the base of the camper. My rig is currently stored in Reno. I'm heading back April 4 to do some...

Hi PawleyK and David. To be more specific I'm only looking for a place to store the empty truck and camper. I anticipate Death Valley is going to have a outrageous wildflower bloom come February or March. I plan on flying home to the PNW after my December/January trip and then heading back...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical power plug request for assistance

Good morning WTW people. I accidentally pulled the plug off of the power cord from my 2018 fleet. When I attempted to repair it I noticed that the plug end has three lines but the line coming from the camper only has two lines. And of course the colors don't match. There is a black and white...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting Recovery boards

I carry two maxtraxs. I have never personally had to use them but I did lend them to someone else I encountered who was stuck in the snow on a trail. I store them strapped to the hard wall behind the seat inside the cab of my taco truck.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Toyota dealer wouldn't work on my truck w/ camper attached.

The last time my rig was in the shop (new struts/shocks on the front end) the four wheel parts shop had to reschedule the work. I had to remove my FWC fleet because truck was not properly balanced on the lift. They said it was unsafe. I do have a standard cab gen2 Tacoma model and the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting a lagun table?

Mounted mine on the driver side. It works best that way I think. Most practical for sure. I can sit on the driver side bench next to the furnace and face someone sitting on the rollover couch as we have dinner on the lagun supported table. I also work on the table (laptop and files). I added a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet shell interior dimensions

You don't want to carry a lot of stuff like bikes inside. That will really scratch up and damage the interior and make it look like crap soon. Get yourself a good bike rack. I put mine on a swing out attachment and that allows me to enter and exit the camper without a problem.
