12 Volt A/C

Pretty far down on my wish list, but I just ran across this webpage. They claim to have a 12 volt A/C with upto 7000 BTU.

Now, that's confidence in your solar power. 12v @ 30 - 46 amps
At 6 amps per 100 watt panel, it looks like about eight 100 watt panels in full sun while chilling in the camper.
Makes you go hmmmmmm.

For me, getting higher elevation and chilling in a small stream may be worth consideration.

And for the 16+ hours the sun isn't at max, you'll only need about a 800amp/hr battery bank, unless you want to run anything else.

Eight panels? I suppose if I angle them I might be able to squeeze that many in. I agree, if its that hot its time for some elevation.

I would think the idea would be to run a small gen to keep batts charged while running this off the batt bank. However, 2K for something like this is a non-starter.
