Can anybody suggest a good 12 volt fan for night operation that does not draw too much energy?

Thanks!

You mean for cooling -- creating an indoor breeze on a warm night?

I've used a computer case fan for miscellaneous air-circulation needs...they work well if you don't need a lot of air blowing around (less than 100 cfm, usually). Quiet and efficient -- and cheap.

Here's a link to some 120mm-diameter choices at Newegg.com: Computer Case Fans (120mm)
A typical current draw is 0.3 - 0.5 amps (at 12 volts) for this size/type of fan. There are also bigger ones available.

I bought one of these for a trip to southern Baja one summer. It got us thru some sticky nights on the east cape. No idea how efficient it is but it got the job done. I use it for the dog sometimes when driving in the heat..

I haven't tried one of these, but I plan to get one this summer. It's a Fantastic Fan in a box fan frame.
