Even though I am not the original owner of my 2002 Tundra,Toyota sent me a "Frame Rust Corrosion Perforation Deadline Extension". If you are an owner of a Tundra year 2000-2003 Toyota has an extension on the frame inspection until 31 December,2012. If you haven't received the letter and have a Tundra within these years just go to a Toyota dealer for the free inspection and repair if needed. I checked mine out doesn't seem to have a problem but when I take it in for the next service I'll take advantage of this service.
Hope this helps ,frank

We were (it has been sold) the original owners of our 2000 Tundra. As I understand it, the corrosion problem was limited to vehicles in high snow areas that used salt for the roads. Our Toyota dealer checked the frame repeatedly when we took it in for service and never saw any signs of corrosion. If your truck's previous owner was local to you then you should be fine. But I agree that you should have the dealer check it when you get it serviced.
