80’s grandby rebuild

Hi I’m starting that fun journey of refurbishing an 80’s grandby .. first job is to fix the camper jacks .. I believe they are old reico’s ... was looking for confirmation.

They do look like old Rieco hydraulic jacks. Heavy and awkward. If it were me, I’d recycle them and get a set of mechanical jacks.

Yup, as previously mentioned I’d guess Rieco. They are heavy but IMO weren’t a bad jack. I had them on my Caveman camper of days past. They were still on it when I sold it.

They work just fine for raising and lowering the camper in and out of the bed. You have to know your "need." Are you keeping the camper on the truck? If so, keep the jacks. Are you moving the camper off and on the truck a bunch of times a year? If yes, keep the jacks. Are you traveling with the jacks on, and the camper on a half ton truck? You might consider something lighter. My two cents...
