Advice Requested: Spring 2020 Prowling South West

Thereis a road report available for the Escalante at https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/documents/files/GSENM-Road-Condition-Report.pdf It is put out by the BLM but is updated infrequently so isn't always the most reliable, the current posting is from August, almost three months old.

Also, the visitor centers are sometimes hesitant to give you much advice on road conditions as one persons treacherous is another's no problem.

Understood...but like on WRT...I ask for and was able to speak to a ranger that actually had recently and at regular intervals had driven the road....got recent and valuable info and some great tips...

FYI...just got off the phone with a nice lady at the Big Water BLM visitor center...they are the source of Smoky Mountain Rd reports and are the ones that drive it then post road conditions or advisories which in turn Escalante visitor center uses...right now, no advisories and good to go for "2-wheel drive" vehicles with high clearance...

Big Water is at the South end of Smoky Mt. Rd and on Hwy 89.
