Air deflector

Sweet job, Girl! I like the way the deflector goes up onto the face of the camper.
Angle looks good to me. How does it sound? I noticed a big drop in noise when I installed the Yakima version.

I like your custom setup better! Sharing mods is all part of the fun around here.

Hi Lighthawk,

It is much quieter. I do need to put some kind of rubber on the top where it touches the camper. It scuffed the paint off a bit. Just waiting for Spring to really do some traveling!!

I used ideas gathered from this forum. Instead of using vinyl fence posts, I went with the horizontal (split-rail) piece. I thought this might be a little less weight. My only concern was how sturdy it would be at highway speeds. As it turned out, I've had no problems with vibration, flexing or bowing.

bad thing is ya gotta have the camper off the truck to do this, and mine ain't coming off! Nice though.

I'll be opting for the Yakima version myself to help cut down wind noise. Now I just gotta find some of those q--towers
