Alaskan Camper Gallery

I've been really happy with the winter performance of the Alaskan. I purchased a pair 6v GC batteries from Costco, installed just forward of each wheel well. I have a Honda 2000 generator that we run for a few hours from setup/sundown to bedtime. I can run the furnace on low all night, keeping the cabin around 55 F and then crank it up the next morning to 68 F. Batteries on average drop from 12.6 to 12.4.

Photo taken in 1994 of my 1985 F-150 4x4 and my late '60's Alaskan....that was then, now I need a mid 70s or so 8 foot CO for my F-250....

After a couple years looking (as well as lurking on this site) and saving, we found this 2009 10' CO. This photo was taken just after picking it up. We're real excited for the opportunities this will provide us.

My new to me 1977 Alaskan 8ft CO. On the 2004 Dodge Ram 4x4. On way back from purchase, stopped south of Moab for this road shot. I don't know if interior is all original, but it has original fittings. New DC lights, old AC lights, been rewired in past.

Thanks for the compliments, the camper appreciates them. I don't like the replacement upholstery, I'll look for a new alternative over time.

An update: Went through camper cleaning it and discovered that the camper is a 1972. Of course, there is some rot at the corners in the top, and some seals need replacing. Just fired up both the heater (WORKS!) and the fridge (sorta works, still working on it).

Here are interior photos with the top up.

I'll stop my posting in here. I may start up a post on the fridge repair (Dometic RM36A) It may be of interest to some people.

my new to me 1978 mini.. I think it was a sleeper because it looks all original, bench seats both sides.. never had an ice box, sink or stove that I can see.
It's wider than it is long, 6' 1/2" length x 6' 3" width.

Here is our Alaskan we have been traveling in for the last 9 months, well over 250 nights on the road to Ushuaia, Argentina. We put a fair amount of work into it but have just really enjoyed using it hard and have really got to know her well! Here are a few of our favorite shots to the halfway point on our road trip....

some of your photos were used in determination of shipping constraints of an Alaskan to Germany

I hope Manfred made it over in one piece

took a little stroll through your pics....a million stories I'll bet....you've got the right camper, the right partner and the right attitude...smiling after that spike must have been hard

My sincere congratulations on that epic voyage....EPIC indeed!!

My 93 W250 CTD with my 70’ish Alaskan 8’ CO. Been slowly redoing things on it. It’s been great for my wi&e and 1 YO too.
