I downsized from a Ram 1500 ecodiesel + Hawk shell to a DCSB Tacoma/Swift full camper this year. Diesel tech was cool but with the initial premium in cost by the time it saved me money on fuel I would be paying for a maintenance thing. It would be different where they are ubiquitous in Europe, Africa, or Australia. Having more space for long trips was nice but this is my only vehicle and its suits my short commute and every day use better. You will pay out the nose to change from your loss of investment to your tacoma, taxes, all new mods, etc. What you have is a big cab and short wheelbase which has a great deal of value. I believe you fill up whatever space you have with junk and make due with smaller size whether it is big truck/grandby, campershell/air mattress, tourbus/RV, big house, Manhattan apartment, etc. The Swift is tight but as long as you stow **** as soon as you're done with it, it works fine. The main advantage of the fleet IMO is the different floorplans but I like the Rollover.
