asking for experienced knowledge for Mexico travel

I am contemplating a 2018 trip to Copper Canyon with friends. I have a choice between my Jeep (been in Mexico) or my F250 with FWC has not been. Long drive for me so would like the truck and FWC. However, someone posted, on another forum, that Popups may not be allowed in unless registered as an RV?

Anybody have any experience recently? I know a lot of FWCs are in Baja but not sure about mainland. any HELP appreciated

Read on Expedition Portal that truck campers are no longer allowed into Mexico, nothing said about clasification. Jd

I read that too but trying to confirm... I hope that means the fullsize slideins and not popups

Border States with mainland MEX have been the issue in recent weeks.

A slide-in camper in a pickup with a vehicle registration as a pickup and a pillar placard with a GVWR of 7716# or more seems to be problematic.

Does not appear to be a problem entering Baja in recent days.

Check out the bajaforum (baja nomad). There's a guy leading a group there who used to be a guide down there. He's setting up his last trip in 2018. I'd love to do it with him but my truck doesn't meet the criteria but your jeep would!
