awning advice

I’m using the Mule bracket on my Hawk with ARB 10’ awning and have been down some rough rocky trails with no problems.
nice, I'm thinking about ordering it. I emailed them to find out if it will work with a swift model. I've thought about fabricating my own bracket, but might just order this as a starting point and mod the bracket if necessary.

I'm looking at the mule brackets now. It looks like the mule brackets there's just one in the rear and one up front that mount to the jack brackets. 2 mounts total that attach to the awning, is that correct? it feels pretty sturdy this way? what awning are you using? will it work with the swift model?
i have the alu cab on an atc ocelot camper, in a 6.5' bed. the 2 mule brkts attach to jack brkts, and its a very solid install. this fall we had some rain, and i had to put awning away wet. at next camp i set awning up in the eve, and in the morning it was a nice sunny day, but i was in the shade. no problem with just leaving awning up, and slowly drove over to a sunnier location to dry out the awning.

So I just installed the alucab shadow awning with the Mule brackets on my 2015 Swift Shell. While it sort of works, I cannot say I recommend it unless you are a fabricator or into welding. I am planning on strengthening the rear corner bracket somehow with additional metal as it is just not strong enough. While deploying the awning that corner flexes probably close to an inch of flex until you put the leg down. Forget about using it without putting that leg down. I think it will work out and is a great starting point for a fabricator but deff needs some beefing up.

The Saltmade brackets with 80/20 are designed to be a starting point. https://saltmade.co

thx for the saltmade link. good idea. when i ordered my atc, i first ordered the jack brkts to go all the way to the top, and then later changed to std brkts. wish i left that alone. the taller brktry gives you lots of options.

have u thought about extending jack brkts all the way up as far as they can go? i would think that would give you a beefy location to mount to. there is good alum tube structure at the corner.
